The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope none of you are shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

What is the Dragon's Tongue?

[Sven is hanging around, dressed in jeans, a t-shirt, and a suit jacket over it like he's even pretending to be formal. And he has his new bff Glowbug the displacer beast in tow. Yep, he goes everywhere with her now. Everyone else just has to deal with his life.

Once they get near Riddick, Glowbug seems to take an interest in him and wander in his direction. Sven follows suit. You know, to make sure she doesn't eat him. That would suck. While he's here, he will also try to have a conversation.]

You look like you're enjoying yourself.

[The displacer beast immediately catches Riddick's eye, causing all of his animalistic instincts to rise up. He casually drops a hand to his side as they approach, waiting to see what the animal would do, his eyes taking in the legs, the spines, the way it moves and everything else he can note about it. He is immediately in love.

His eyes don't move from it as Sven talks, but he answers him in his rumbly voice, actual amusement tingeing the tones.]

More than I thought I would, considering. That's a beautiful animal you have there. [And where can he get one, and can he pet it, and he wants it and now he wants to know everything about it and and and! This is basically Riddick's equivalent to a squeeing school-girl.]

Not that kind of plundering. Artifact recovery, of something that's been lost for quite a long time.

[She sets a fast ace as she goes towards the food. She tries to stay at a reasonable human level, but it's hard because she's hungry. She looks over her shoulder as they go, still chatting.]

They've got awesome food here. Have you tried any yet?

[ It was! Or so her small smile seems to say, as it appears genuine. ]

You just returned from Slovechnia, didn't you?

Ah yes! I imagine that might sound a bit strange with no preamble. [A low laugh resonates in his expansive chest, with all kinds of draconic reverb] Our organization operates in a number of sections, each of whom specialize in an area of expertise. The Dragon's Tongue represents those with a focus on diplomacy, or the art of dealing with people directly.

One of the leads the team pursued has directed them to New Orleans. If you'd like to rendezvous with them there, we can arrange to have you sent.

[Riddick lets out a rumbling grumble, his hands clenching slightly.</small] Yeah, I just bet he did. Good thing we didn't buy his bullshit.

[Lol he really needs to think of these things, but being on his own for forever really keeps him self-sustaining. He sure isn't against instantaneous healing though.]

Wanna take a crack at it? [He nods his head towards his bicep, bringing his hand down from behind his head.]

[She nods] Can you take that bandaging off?

He seemed pretty transparent, either way. Not a lot of manners on that guy.

We're not out of the woods with him yet. He'll be trouble down the line.

Perhaps you'll be grateful for the respite, afterwards.

Hmm, might be kinda fun being on the mission to go back and make sure he stays in line.

[He reaches up and starts unwrapping his arm skillfully, wadding the gauze up once he finishes and tossing it on the table. The wound in his arm is jagged, though clean with no sign of infection. It had weeped a bit while in the bandage and a trickle of blood runs down his arm slowly while he waits for her to do her thing.]

I can make sure Wynn knows you're interested.

[layonhands]

That doesn't seem too bad. But I imagine it will feel better either way to have it gone. [And she simply reaches out a hand, laying it across the wound. A small flash of white light between her palm and his skin glows, then dims again, and when she lifts her hand, all sign of blood - or injury - is gone.]

Yep! We did slave freeing. It was way cool. [Andie's pretty proud of all of that. She did good.] And I got my recommendation!

[He doesn't do much to keep up. Instead he just keeps his eyes on her head since their hair makes her easy to keep track of.]
