[ This log covers any non-work related shenanigans the Knights have while staying in New Orleans. Because we haven't finished out the other two logs yet, assume some time has passed since then, in case anyone was injured, so that they've had sufficient time to get better.

As for work stuff, you can assume they've been busy with establishing Finnick's fake rock star cred, and investigating some of the intel they'll uncover in those other logs that we haven't quite gotten to yet. JUST DON'T TALK ABOUT WORK and all will be well.

... Shut up. [ she just scowls, because, well, yes. but that's not the point. the point is the touching and inspirational journey to that gold medal and boyfriend. ]

[He looks amused.] Face it, Summers. Your tastes in telly are just as crap as mine.

[slays]

My tastes are just fine! And -- telly? Who even calls it that?

You're in denial!

And you're just desperately trying to convince yourself that there's anything as bad as Passions!

[He glares at her with seething resentment... but slowly it melts into an grin.]

Look at us.

[slays]

[ she stops, glancing around unsurely, then looks back at him, clueless. ]

... What exactly am I supposed to be looking at?

[bigbad]

[Yeah she can look at them in the bar mirror but it'll be boring thanks to Spike's -a gazillion penalty to reflection checks.]

We're chatting about movies and such. [Arguing, okay, but as far as fights go this is definitely one you have with a friend not with someone you think wants to eat you.] It's... friendly.

[slay]

Which is surprising because ... what exactly? [ she raises her eyebrows. ] Not exactly a first, here. [ it's more deflect-y distance-creating stupidness and not acknowledging feels. ] Did you forget? Friendly was kind of a thing pre-your coming out party.

[bigbad]

Key-word, was. It's been a while. [He tilts his head, smiling at her.] It's nice. I missed it.

[slay]

[ there's thoughtfulness in her expression as she seems to consider that, reflecting and disappearing inside herself for a moment. when she tunes back in, she gives a little bit of a smile but remains silent on the topic. despite her lack of effective communication ability, it's clear in her face. she missed it, too. ]

Any chance you wanna get us some more of these? [ she holds up the empty beer glass and ticks it like a metronome in her hand before setting it back down. ] Or something else. Surprise me.

[bigbad]

[His smile widens at her answer. More drinking! And she sure hasn't turned around and decided that being friendly meant time for a punching interlude.] Surprise it is. [And he goes off to get her some sort of girly mixed drink and himself something that tastes like battery acid. Cause he's manly.]

[slay]

[ she gives a smile as he heads off, though it drops as he heads off. she glimpses in the mirror at the back of the bar and can't spot him in it for obvious reasons and that's just an icky reminder. she fidgets with a napkin in front of her until he gets back, at which point she quickly pushes it aside and turns her empty glass upside down on top of it so that the sparse waitresses know to pick it up. ]

[bigbad]

[He hands her the drink and sits down.] Here you are. [He takes a sip of his, looking generally happy.] Least Passions isn't predictable.

[slays]

[ she takes it with a smile, raising an eyebrow because it's like ... peach colored from various fruits. thanks for the glowing review of her personality, spike. ] But apparently we're thinking I am. [ which, okay, granted, maybe she is and as she sips it, it's not bad. BUT IT'S THE PRINCIPLE OF THE THING. ]

[bigbad]

[He raises his eyebrow and pushes his drink at her.]

[slay]

[ she eyes him for a moment, suspicious, then lifts the drink and takes a sip. she sets the glass down quickly while making an ick face, shuddering as it goes down, then slides it back over to him while she coughs and hacks and tries to gather her composure back together. ] God, that's foul.

[bigbad]

[He chuckles as he takes it back. That was just the cutest face.] Guess we thought right.

[slays]

This proves nothing except that your taste in drinks is just as bad as your taste in TV.

[bigbad]

This is good scotch. You've just got no appreciation for it is all.

[slay]

If this is what scotch calls good, I'd hate to try the bad stuff. [ she sticks her tongue out briefly, then turns to go back to her own drink with a newfound gratitude for the peachiness. ]

[bigbad]

You're welcome. [For picking a good drink even if it was predictable. He keeps sipping his scotch.] Guess you don't go out drinking much?

Uh ... No. No, I don't really. [ not technically a lie, right? she's barely done it at all in the past six months. it doesn't matter that he probably meant before then. ]

[bigbad]

Thought so, with the not knowing what you like drinking. [He nods at what he got her.] But that's good, right?
