The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Words tumbling out of her mouth before Rose can engage her brain, managing a weak smile for the blonde as fingers drummed along the bar.]

But I figure I get drunk and something will go wrong and I'll be screwed.

[Because that was the sort of week she was having.]

And here I thought joining the Knighthood was going to be a good life plan. [The hint of a grin touching her lips to suggest that she was only half serious.]

I think that's more about the sort of people they were before they came here.

That's my point. [Rose!Logic doesn't always make sense.] Now you have a whole bunch of people who have a knack for finding trouble all finding it together.

At least that way they can watch each other's backs.

True. [A beat.] So where do you fall on the finding trouble scale? Or are you like, one of those people who cleans up after everyone else?

[ she gives a tiny little smile that says that hits a little close to him ] I suppose that's a good way to put it...

[And Rose just continues on, completely oblivious.] Could be worse. You could be the resident therapist.

I think Wynn takes that role on all by himself.

I always thought his job was to just stand there and look Wynn-like so we don't screw around.

I don't think that's something he has to actively aspire to.

It's like super charisma but in reverse. [As those words came out, surprise touched her features, Rose realizing that she remembered something from before the veil, prompting her to focus again on Risa.]

Hey do you know if like... There's a way to get your pre-arrival memories back?

Absolutely none, that anyone's discovered in hundreds of years of looking. Tia says it's as if the memories aren't even repressed - they're just not there.

So even the stuff you remember you just can't make sense of it... that's just - too bad?

Whatever was taken from you was taken for a reason. It's better to not obsess over a past you can't recreate.

Well what if that past comes back to bite you in the ass?

You could say that. [You could also say; Understatement of the century.] Somebody who knows me, I don't know them and they aren't exactly big on the explaining.

[Which wasn't entirely true. Lissa seemed happy to explain everything - just not how the bond worked.]
