The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

What of the other deities of our people? Do they hold as little interest to you?

They seem to hold no interest in me, so I return the favor. [He grins.] Though, I did do a bit of soul-searching when I came to the surface. Looking for a sign from Eilistraee... but if there was one, I must have missed it. And the rest could all just be alternative guises of the Spider Queen, for all I've read.

[ she's not sure if that's more or less horrifying than there being several evil drow deities, and she takes a moment to consider the implications before speaking up again ] In this world, I'm sure you've noticed, the gods hold less power overall, although that doesn't seem to diminish their followers.

But I suppose it is rude to discuss religion at a party, so forgive me my curiosity. I suppose a more appropriate topic would be what you wish your orientation to consist of? Or any questions you might have.

Not rude in the slightest. [He winks, and nods.] Though, I must say that a weakening in Her powers does little to comfort me. Her greatest power, in my opinion, is the influence over our people. If they maintain their fervor, but She is diminished I imagine she would become like a desperate beast... unpredictable, and extremely dangerous.

[He looks very concerned for a moment.]

But, is that not why I have come here? These evils are better fought with a concentrated effort. I will leave the details of my orientation up to you, that seems most appropriate. I love a challenge, so feel free to test me however you may see fit.
