What was supposed to be a night to unwind wound up with a confrontation between Failboat and Keijen Blade that didn't exactly go the way the team was hoping for. However, in the process, they at least managed to get Isabella back and extract Dumage from her long term undercover assignment.

The remainder of the night is spent back at the hotel, recuperating, in order to catch the flight back to London the next morning. This also means saying goodbye to those who will be going back to Chicago: Isabella, Burt, and Rafael.

Dammit [He mutters quietly, and slides into Dumage's ride - trying to put as much space as possible between him and Spike.]

Uh, F... Finnick [He blurts out, just a few moments after getting in, still looking dazed.] Des and I have totally badass and entirely too-heterosexual and matching cars... And he kissed a dude... But, I mean, you don't think that makes me look like...? I mean... I've done my fair share of honeypot stings with dudes, and I'm pretty damned great at it, but that doesn't mean... I mean, does it? that 27 drive check is sure sexy, des. unfortunately it also means that when he suddenly discovers the hard way that his car doesn't have any brakes, he's going incredibly fast down the road - which happens to be slanted downwards, where it boasts a beautiful view of the thames... right up ahead.

and oh hey. no one else has brakes either.

with a nat 20 drive check, dumage gasps, and then flawlessly engages the emergency brake, grinding the car to a dramatic sideways halt in the street with only minor jostling to those in the vehicle.

with his 27 drive check, des is smart enough to try the emergency brake first, but to... no avail, because the thing is apparently also out of commission. instead, he can downshift to a lower gear, and drive onto the grassy median, allowing the uneven ground to bring enough resistance to bring the car to a stop yards away from the waterfront.

with her crit failed drive check, vi's knowledge of evasive maneuvers flies out the window entirely. her car careens straight for the edge, and hits the railing fast enough to send the car into a rolling flip straight into the river.

luckily, at least everyone has the time to make some reflex saves in that vehicle as kat screams "JUMP!" along with some obscenities, throwing her door open....

[Elena thankfully doesn't lose her shit because the one thing she remembers about being home was CRASHING INTO A FUCKING LAKE, but her will save of 19 assures that she doesn't immediately panic.
