Were they really written by a member of the Knighthood?

She was a knight, yes. At least for a while. [ gossip gossip gossip ]

Did something happen to her?

I believe it was a forced resignation. She knew the consequences of publishing classified information about the Knights, making it available to the public, and she chose to do it regardless.

I'd sometimes wondered how anyone ever got Wynn to sign off on this. The details are... all quite familiar.

Just goes to show, not much has changed around here in the last hundred years.

Somewhat astonishing, yes. [ look she thinks it's gr8, cuz she's a baby ] She really was a fantastic writer, er, subject matter aside. There's so much life in her characters.

She had quite a bit of spirit, herself. [ she smiles fondly ] And a lot of spunk.

Like her main character, then? [ a little bit too much like, gar. ]

It's been a while since I've read it, but I believe I found the similarities truly astounding. [ her smile grows the tiniest bit ] I knew her quite well, actually. We were squired at the same time.

Were you? Did you keep in touch, after she left the Knighthood?

As much as was possible, I suppose. Communication was slightly more limited at the start of the twentieth century.

Yes, I imagine it would be. [ still, she grins at the thought ] You must have seen so many knights come and go over the years.

More than I'd care to count. [ and she smiles, too ] It's difficult to watch so many come and then eventually go, one way or another, but it's hard to imagine my life deprived of so many I've come to know through out the years.

It has to have been fascinating, to see how our methods have changed.

The Knights are certainly skilled at adapting to the times, yes, but overall, the way things are run has basically stayed the same.

[rationalizes]

What year was it you joined, if I may ask?

[socialgraces]

It was June of 1904. Only a matter of days after I arrived in this world, actually.

[rationalizes]

You arrived here in London, then?

[socialgraces]

No, in Italy, actually. [ she gives gar a knowing look ] Naples, to be specific. I know, what a wonderful introduction to the world, especially for one so obviously Shadowkind as I am.

[rationalizes]

I imagine it wasn't much better then than it is now.

[socialgraces]

It was worse, actually. A dangerous place for any Shadowkind to be, and I was almost murdered the second day after my arrival.

[rationalizes]

Was it the Knights who intervened?

[socialgraces]

A knight, yes. He single-handedly saved my life, and did his very best to convince his mission group to bring me back with them to England. [ don't mind this girlish smile she's incapable of hiding ]
