The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[He has waited for quite a while and now he has to wait again? He definitely doesn't like the decision, but arguing about it won't help, so he just sighs and acknowledges the option.] I'll be waiting for that day then. Meanwhile, I'll keep my eyes on the street in case anything significant shows up.

[Brantley walks toward her with his usual smile, he is still bothered with the affair, but he does try to stay calm about it.]

[Max's walking around with a mouth full of food and some more hanging out on his mouth. He is also busy staring at the screen of his PS Vita, so he definitely doesn't see where he is going. Marching with the body of a bodybuilder, whoever he bumps into, the impact will be rough. So prepare for a collision.]

[Brantley takes a seat near him without realizing that there's something under the table. He puts his drink on the table and greets the guy next to him with a smile.] Hi, are you one of the new squire? [Because Brantley has never seen him before, and there were just too many people squired lately.]

[Max walks toward Chris and stops without saying anything for a while. He scans him with his otherworldly dark green eyes for a moment before finally saying a few words.]

Do I know you? You seem familiar?

Eric is a canoe of douches, but -- [ she shrugs. but she loves him like a big dumb brother. eric was good for lila, it just doesn't stop her from seeing him as a bitch. ] Better than Christos. [ judges him forever and ever and ever. ]

Mmm. Well traveled. That's fairly common around here, at least among the older knights. Though most of us are only so worldly because of missions instead of some intrinsic desire to see the world.

[ sup sup it's your favorite (haaaaa) mentor. he's not being around the bush right now though, so he just comes out with it. ] Max. How's next week sound for your orientation?

Yeah. I've been here for over a year, but I've been doing this sort of thing since I was thirteen so I'm kind of a pro. [ though she looks likes she's still a teenager, so that probably isn't all that comforting. ] It probably helped that my mom is big on childbirth and midwifery so, you know, I got you covered.

[ she doesn't point out hayley obviously pregnant belly, because that would be rude. ] But if you don't want me, after we get to know each other, I'm sure Wynn will let you request someone else.

[ right now vi has the self worth of a potato so she doesn't even hesitate with that offer, just sits down and break off a piece of the cupcake, more for her. ]

It's potentially better than the notion that Wynn might have pushed for recruitment in preparation for what may come. [She doesn't believe he's that sort of man, though.] Some of them are so young. [She's a baby herself, but her life has always been a series of growing up too fast. This world only continued that trend.]
