The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ she shrugs. ] I'll do whatever they tell me to do. I'm just not sure I should.

Hey Red, you must be Helen's new kid. [ gus smiles as he approaches and there is a certain fondness to his tone. yeah, he and helen talked about lydia, but they talk about everything, so it's not much of a surprise. it's part of their old married couple routine. ]

[ for a while, gus just watches stiles with a confused expression. he can't tell if he's having a fit or not. there is mild concern. when he moves to start inhaling more food, gus approaches.

he reminds gus of the squirrel. ] You might want to try breathing between bites.

I was hoping that would be the answer. You'd have broken my heart otherwise. [ damn, gus is being hella smooth as he leads rebekah to the dance floor, circling his arm around her waist and holding their clasped hands aloft. he is no slouch on the dance floor. (dance 18) ]

Your accent. It's not just British, is it?

[ gus' own american accent is only just barely discernible as specific to new york. it's very subtle. ]

What in the bloody hell have you got on your head? [ those dulcet tones, softened by a thick irish accent, come from the very tiny (four feet tiny) ginger standing behind him. ella's bright dress matches her hair, but seems a bit at odds with her half gobsmacked, half utterly judgmental expression. ] And tails! You've got on proper white tie, haven't you, bloody Benedict Cumberbatch.

[ as natasha moves around the room, she passes lila smoking on the balcony, thin cigarette held between gloved fingers. the delicate looking blonde is only half paying attention, but enough that when she sees natasha out of the corner of her eye her head pops up from her phone. ] Hey, you're the Russian.

[ solidarity, yo. no, really, that's the only reason lila paid attention to her at the squiring ceremony she spent playing scrabble on her phone, but it's also the reason she turns to face natasha now. she forewent a scarf this evening, so the thick pink grey scar circling her throat peaks out from the neck of her dress. ] That's you, right? Romanoff?

[Brantley approaches Wynn with a serious face. He normally greets people with a smile, but he is not in the mood to put on a smile.]

Master Wynn, do you have time to talk?

[Nothing wrong with that. You have good taste, Bo. Rebekah takes the glass with a smile.]

It is an interesting seeming group of people here -- I'll give you that.

[Max was gulping tasting some of the wine, when he saw the man with the top hat. Normally, people would start with a "hello", but this half-orc never cared about subtlety.]

Too mediocre for your taste, top-hat?

Well, we couldn't have that now could we? [Rebekah's been dancing for a very long time so she follows him with that sort of ease and grace only experience can bring. (dance 19).]

It's not. My family and I have traveled a lot. [It's not a lie, just not the whole truth.]

[Max came for the food and drink but since this guy entertained him during the boring ceremony, he is here to tell him how much he enjoyed it.]

Hey, you're that guy who got humped at the ceremony. Nice performance, pal.

[At 5'3'', she's pretty much mini-sized compared to him. She's tiny. It happens. With a brief smile, she pops some of the little foods into her mouth, and a small shrug of her shoulders.] If I were in any rush, I could have gotten through. [She says it like she's teasing -- and she mostly is -- but she also knows that tossing people halfway across the room generally isn't how you make friends.] Sometimes I think parties are for standing around awkwardly, anyway.

[This time, Max is wearing something more decent, a geeky T-shirt with a picture of pixel-y 8-bit dragon printed on it and a pair of jeans. Still not appropriate for a party, but at least it is more decent than what he wore at his squiring party(disguise 6). He brought his PS Vita with him but he is currently munching down the selections of food around the place with the appetite of an orc.]

[swooping into the squiring/after-party had been a last minute decision for alex, and it shows in his wardrobe choice — he's just wearing a button down and dark jeans. (disguise 10) but it's ok, he hot. he can sell it. when he spots natasha, he just can't help but make his way over.] Hey ... Natasha, right? [wis 15]

Because I don't want to be like my dad. [ so she joined a knighthood to catch bad guys. like will and jack and beverly did. ]

[ because dogs aren't really appropriate to squiring parties, abigail is taking lemon for a walk outside so he doesn't get any ideas about the potted plant in the corner. except lemon really wants to meet leia, because he careens right over and abigail barely has time to grab his collar and pull him back before he reaches the woman. she mumbles something about circuses as she looks up sheepishly. ] Sorry.

[ shrug. ] I don't think Will is going to shave. [ you can't have him, find a new present. ]

[Felicity is going with her usual of sparkles, legs and heels as she makes her way into the squiring party, making a beeline for the bar and a quick drink. She's knows some stuff is going down but she's not involved enough with that particular group to know what it is and she's not asking. It's probably for the best.

All the same, she's friendly on approach and will happily idly chat for however long you'd like her to. Feel free to bother, and she will tell you about how her BFF is getting married. It's awesome.]
