The first twenty-four hours of searching yielded no results, in the hunt for Elena and the escaped doppelganger Kyp.  Most consider it not worth keeping up the search when both of them are capable of vanishing into literally any crowd, but Wynn isn't so quick to give up.  To that end, he's hired monster hunter Dean Winchester to work with a special team in trying to track them down.  A few other Knights familiar with Elena are invited along to the mini briefing, where Wynn and Dean already wait.

[Rose doesn't even bother nodding cause she's been pacing the hallways ever since Dean and Wynn went to have their little pow wow so now she's just sitting with her arms folded across her chest, leg bouncing up and down as she plays with the nazar that hangs around her neck and steals pointed glances at the only person in this room that she doesn't know. Psst. Yes you Damon.]

Elena. [Helen says simply. Kyp is of very little consequence to her. She wants him brought to justice, surely, but it's clear where her interests lie.]

[Archer is sitting, arms folded, clearly irritated at this whole situation - though luckily finally getting over his hangover and jet lag.]

Did we check all of her safe-houses? dead-drops? Maybe she's playing double-double-agent, and just had to go, like... deep undercover?

Elena left a note for Sir de Tanos that makes it clear this choice was of her own volition. She had a conversation with me shortly before her disappearance, asking me what Kyp's fate was meant to be. I told her that I would be speaking with Sir Spike and Sir de Tanos before a decision was reached, given the injuries done to them thanks in great part to his collusion with the enemy.

Elena suggested Kyp be allowed a chance to redeem himself.

Oh, we'll "redeem" him, alright. [Archer says, making air quotes, then pantomiming blowing Kyp's face off with his shotgun.]

[Dean smirks at that one] This guy's speaking my language.

[Even Rose manages a smirk of approval before looking from 'New Guy' to Wynn.]

So, I get why we're here but what's with the Vampire ringer?

Damon listens closely, grateful that he's been given the chance to get in on this mission. (He would've found a way, somehow. Doing it while coloring inside the lines is probably better for everyone.)

Good to know his vampirism is widespread knowledge. (Then again, why wouldn't it be here.) ]

You guys really don't play well with new others, do you? [ First the trust angle from - well, everyone and Vi saying he needs to be gentle with Elena's family. Then to Rose. ] I know Elena. From the other side of the veil.

Sir Salvatore offers a potential insight into Elena's instincts that even she may not be cognizant of. As someone who was familiar with her before she came this world - and someone concerned with seeing her returned safely - I knew he would prove invaluable to this mission.

[Eh, probably not so common knowledge. Rose is just a bit of a special snowflake when it comes to the undead.

Her eyes narrow, clearly skeptical.]

Except that Elena knows about as much about Vampires as I know about knitting. How do we know he's telling the truth?

[ Well thanks for the group outing. ]

Then you must be well-versed in knitting, the Elena I know is teaming with vampire drama. [ Which is partly his fault. ] Make no mistake, if I dropped through this veil without any memories at all I wouldn't be here. [ And it'd probably be better for anyone. ] But I can't sit back and do nothing. I for one am grateful for the vote of confidence. [ That's to Wynn. Then, back to Rose. ] If I can prove it I will, I'd say ask anything, but, you're predisposed to assume I'm lying. What do they call that kind of a situation? I'm between a rock and something.

If we deemed it necessary, I could fill this room with a zone of truth spell - but I don't think that sets the dynamic of trust necessary to establish confidence between teammates.

I, for one, believe his word.

To Damon.] Clearly she's not the Elena you think you know.

[Rose has half a mind to tell Wynn to go for it but... then she rolled a super awesome Wisdom check of 19 so...]

It's fine... It'll just waste time that can be spent looking for them so... [Refocusing on Wynn.] What's the plan?

Uh... Seems pretty self-explanatory, Tulip.

Kill the ass-douche, save the girl, be back in time for steak and martinis.

[He leans back, then continues in a slightly angry sarcastic tone;]

If the bad guys can mind control an entire goddamned town, we'd better be able to find two people - who's DNA we have easy access to, might I add - or we've got much bigger things to worry about.

Wait, wait. [ yeah, pause, guess what, it's always time for racism. ] So he's-- [ he points at damon ] another vamp? [ he spreads his hands, looking around, and then at wynn incredulously ] Do you even keep anyone on your payroll who's not part of the freak squad, or do you just go outta your way to recruit the things most people with a brain are lookin' to take down?

I mean, no offense to you, but... [ DEAN. HOW IS THAT NOT OFFENSIVE. TO EVERYONE IN THE ROOM. ] Just seems a little counter intuitive if you ask me.

What do I care what you think of me? [ guess what, he doesn't. ] Not that my speed, strength, or myriad of honed vampire skills can't be put to good use. [ refute him, do it. damon has what's called a point. ]

[Rose looks caught between offended and hurt for about three seconds before she can find a scowl for him.]

Well it's a good thing nobody asked you then isn't it, Dean.

As lovely as it is to be reminded of the vast amount of ignorance still prevalent in the world, perhaps we can stay on topic and leave your opinion of Shadowkind for another time?

[wynn]

I understand that in hunting down those creatures of Shadow who have caused considerable trouble for the human world, it may be difficult to keep in mind that Shadow species are as varied in their morals and motivations as humankind, but I will insist that for as long as you remain in our employ, you refrain from implying that any of my Knights are the same as those of dark intent you've ... dispatched so often before. [ :| moving on ]

This operation is two fold. We're looking to find Sir Gilbert and ensure her safe return to the castle, alive, and to stop the doppelganger Kyp from wandering freely. We know that he willingly aided our enemies against us, sent some of our own into the hands of those who tortured them, and funneled information about our operations to our foes in this very sensitive time. We cannot afford to allow this to continue. What that means, I'll leave up to your discretion.

[Helen is more focused on the Elena half of the mission, but there seem to be plenty of those at the table who are prepared to serve up a heaping portion of justice for Kyp, once they've found him. She's acutely aware that she's going to be the voice of reason here.]

A lead of some sort must have emerged.

[Archer grins, because he pretty much 100% agrees with Dean's vampire hate. He probably could have been swayed, but Spike hasn't exactly been a great vampire ambassador. However, the smug grin disappears when Wynn lays down the law.]

Wait... [Archer was doing pretty well paying attention... but a thought just crept into his head. His eyes begin to widen a bit, as he contemplates some horrific notion;] Do you... uh. Ya think they can dopple-pop themselves into uh... crocodiles?
