[Willow seems to brighten further. People who like math! It's like finding a unicorn.]

Totally! Okay so chemistry stuff actually sort of mixes with magic stuff sometimes. Mixing up potions is basically like chemistry. But I think I saw something over.... there. [She points to a particular aisle.]

I could take a look with you if you want? I don't know about you, but once I start grabbing stuff, it's kind of... hard to stop. An extra set of arms can be useful.

[Cora has a feeling she will probably be Willow's extra set of arms, rather than the other way around, but she wouldn't mind some browsing company.]

Sure. Thanks.

Great! [All bubbly enthusiasm and bright smiles, Willow leads them both to the aisle where some math and science books can be found. She's up on a ladder within a few moments, handing down a few interesting titles down to Cora.]

So how long have you been here?

[impetere]

[Cora takes the titles, glancing at them briefly as she stacks them in front of her.]

I started living here end of July? I didn't get squired until this month though - there was some stuff I was working out.

Well, I'm... glad you worked it out. Because it means you're here and any opportunity to meet someone else who actually likes science? Is a great day in my book.

[She smiles a bit at that.]

Yeah. I guess it is.

[a beat.]

It's been a while since I've ... actually made friends.

[olreliable]

[Willow's smile is a bit sympathetic.]

I'm not that great at it, myself. I tend to sort of just... ramble. If you hadn't noticed. People sort of just back and away once I get going.

[She smiles a bit at that, before shaking her head.]

I don't mind. It means I don't have to say as much.

[Which is a little selfish, but given that she's not really much of a talker it's kind of refreshing to have someone who will fill the silence.]

My boyfriend back home was the same way. Sarcastic, silent type. [She misses Oz but figures that he might actually be here somewhere if so many of the others are.] I don't mind, if you don't. I think it's nice... having a balance like that.

[She nods a bit at that.]

Me too. Better than just ... long awkward silences.

[People who can fill the silence and only need occasional commentary is a good thing for her. It makes her feel like she's a part of the conversation, involved in something, without having to be someone she's not or feeling like she has to force the conversation somehow.]

Just lots of long, awkward rambles instead. [She says with a shrug of her shoulders, because she's not mad about it.]

So besides science, are you into anything else?

[She shrugs a bit.]

I like to work out?

[There's a pause.]

I'm trying to catch up on movies and stuff. I wasn't really watching any for a while.

Oooh, movies! [Not working out. Willow can't really do much with that one, but movies!]

What kind? Comedy? Romance? Horror? I never really liked horror movies, but then I started helping slay demons and now they just don't have the same... bone chilling factor anymore.

[Her eyebrows go up a bit at slaying demons, but she'll set that to the side for now.]

Horror doesn't really do anything for me either.

[Creature of the night and all.]

I like action movies, though?

[olreliable]

Action movies are good! [Her best friend is a real life superhero, so she can appreciate a good action movie.] I think they have a pretty decent collection in one of the rec rooms. We could check it out if you want?

[She considers for a moment before nodding with a small smile.]

Yeah, sure. That sounds like fun.

Great!

[Willow says with a grin. She leads the way to the rec room, heading to check out community DVDs or ones people just were too lazy to take out of there. Which includes Andrews James Bond collection. Oops.]

Anything look good?

[Cora browses through the covers - a lot of them she hasn't seen - before she stops on a copy of Halle Berry's Catwoman because the dice said I should go as awful as possible. The costume looks ridiculous, but she's used to that, unfortunately. Female superheroes are always in ridiculous clothing.]

Have you seen this one?

[Seeing as it came out a few years after her canon point, Willow shakes her head.]

Nope. Let's pop it in. [She's s-so excited.] Ooh- snacks? We should have snacks.

[And thus begins the worst movie choice they've ever made. Cora moves over to the DVD player to put it in before glancing back to her.]

Popcorn?

Definitely. I'll go find some. I just have to... remember where the kitchen is from here.

[She's still really new okay. And the castle is huge.]

[That's okay, Cora knows exactly where the kitchen is from here. It's one of her favorite places. And she can even give her decent directions to get there (navigate 17)!]

Make a left out of here, turn right at the end of the hallway. Go straight until you hit the entryway and then make a right. It'll be on your left-hand side.

Left, right, straight, right, left hand side. [She rattles back (int 22).]

Got it. Okay. Be back in a few. [And off she goes! But fear not, she comes back soon with popcorn and soda and candy. They are all set, basically.]

[She shakes her head. The DVD menu screen is playing, and Cora is curled up on the couch, legs tucked under her Indian-style as she waits for Willow to get back.]

Nope. What'd you get?

Popcorn. Milk duds. Twizzlers. And something called jaffa cakes The package looked good.

[pantry raid! she dumps the haul on the couch and takes her seat.]
