[  The communications tower team is two-fold, but they'll be traveling together to the Isle via a greater teleport scroll as well.  The larger group arrives at the outskirts of the wood, and it's easy enough to spot the giant tower, not far off down the road.  Night is falling, and they're shaded from the empty road at the moment by the tree line they're close to.   Lis'sa looks irritated by the method of travel, checking over her supplies before confirming for them that they've landed on target.  Zero hoists his laptop case onto his shoulder, as Aurelius pats himself down, obviously afraid of missing body parts from the jaunt. ]

[ lila checks her guns, checks her watch, and tugs her black knit hat farther down over her bright blonde curls. briefly, she reaches out to take faye's hand, looking fiercely determined. squeezing her best friend's hand serves both to remind lila why she is there and so, as she murmurs softly under her breath, she can cast mage armor. (which give a + 4 armor bonus to ac for four hours.) always looking out for her bestie.

quietly: ] That was some Harry Potter bullshit I could do without. [ aka that shit was way better than a tin can plane or a fucking boat. all teleporting scrolls all the time. ]

[She head that murmur (listen 21) and knows what you did (spellcraft??? also 21), but she ain't hatin, so she just squeezes Lila's hand back and mouths 'thanks' while she does her own quick assessment of her belongings.]

I'm getting way too used to this teleporting thing. Remind me to learn that spell later.

[ Jordan doesn't seem at all phased by their method of transport, instead looking around curiously, one hand on the sword hanging from his hip. He doesn't hear Lila 's murmured spell (listen 10), but as she casts it he looks back at her, a faint smile ghosting his lips. He closes his eyes a moment, seeming to concentrate hard on something before snapping his head up and to the west, exhaling a deep breath before moving towards the rest of the team. His eyes glow a faint sapphire blue in the darkness as he speaks in a hushed voice. ]

Are we in the right spot?

[ Mars had not like the idea of bring Venus along on such a dangerous event but at the moment he wished he had jsut to have something to squeeze after that. He didnt ever want to travel like that again.

Checking for his new phone, and the few items he brought. He looked over to Faye and Emma, then to Zero before waiting to see what they will do from here.]

[Andrew adjusts his bag of tricks electronics and glances at Zero, trying not to focus on the fact that his boss is right the fuck there. Okay. War. Right...]

I sure as fuck hope we are. [But the tower isn't hard to spot, so he gestures towards it.] Think that's it, yeah?

Seems like it. [ Kate is used to teleporting, though in a different fashion. She takes it well all the same, shaking out limbs and checking over her weapons: the bow across her back, guns at hip and ankle, knives here and there. She's skipped the stocking cap but gone for the all-black apparel, and tugs at her collar and jerks her head in a nod. ] Shall we?

The sooner we get in position, the better.

[ Emma draws the gun from her holster, leaving her sword in its sheath in favor of the familiar firearm. She wraps both hands around the stock and begins to advance on the tower, shoulders hunched and eyes peeled. ]

Pretty sure the giant tower was a clue. [ re: are we in the right place. said to no one in particular now since people are already moving that way, but WHATEVER, IT'S THE PRINCIPLE OF THE THING. lis'sa rolls her eyes, and sweeps past him imperiously. #peasants

Don't get your panties in a bunch, Dedushka. [ such fondness in her tone as she waits for everyone to pass her so she can bring up the rear, gun held loosely in her hand with a casual ease as they walk. she keeps her eyes peeled, if not occasionally flashing over at faye. her handy dandy human flashlight best friend. (spot 20 total) she can clearly multitask. ]

[ Emma draws her weapon again, heading after Lis'sa into the communications tower. She takes a quick glance around the ground floor, watchful and paranoid about more guards (spot 29). ]

[ lila keeps her guns away for now, to the surprise of probably everyone since she's pretty much in a long term relationship with firearms. but she occasionally fails a wisdom check and this is it. her spot and listen checks are always atrocious so we're not going to talk about that right now. she's just following the gang like a wayward puppy. a wayward puppy who still has the guard's coffee. ]

[Faye got a nat 20 spot so she's got the eagle eye on this one. She's also not joining the gun party because despite portal being traumatic, it hasn't made her any less of a "magic first" kind of gal.

Andrew got a 10 on his spot. But a high enough wis to pull out his gun. Yay.]

[jordan still has his curved blade drawn as he enters the tower with the rest of them, eyes sharp (spot 26) as he looks around. the blood is pumping fast in his ears from the action just moments before. a faint shimmer surrounds him, little specks of glitter that seem almost suspended around him as he walks with the group, though he doesn't seem to notice.]

[ lis'sa lets the muscle vanguard head out in front of her and zero and andrew :|

faye, jordan, and emma would all notice shadows moving on the wall where the hall curves ahead, indicating that there are at least 3 guards around the corner. ]

[Shit. Faye's gaze shifts immediately to Emma because she's in charge and Faye respects her authority now??? Weird. Anyway. She gestures at the shadows, just in case Emma (or anyone else who can see her) didn't see.]

[jordan sees the shadows on the wall, bringing his sword up and to the ready. he casts his eyes back as well to see if everyone else noticed.]

[ Emma holds up a hand to stay them for the violence and opts to try a less offensive approach. She waves Lila up with her, pressing herself to the corner (move silently 19). If it wasn't immediately clear why she waves Lila up, it hopefully becomes apparent when she mutters the spell for sleep again, leaning out to get a look at the 3 guards and trying to cast it over as many of them as she can reach. Maybe Lila's dreamwork can take any who make their DC 13 will save down? ]

[ the room to the comm tower control panel is easily labeled, and they run across no further guards upon their way there, although on their way up, zero notes: ]

They're gonna have someone operating the place, so we better be ready to take him out before he sends out a final SOS.

[ yes, let the pissed off child take care of that. jk don't. bad idea. she can only handle working so many people in such a short period of time. three isn't a lot but... it's not nothing. astrid is gonna kill her. as they approach though, she does holster one of her guns, leaving one hand free to probably choke a bitch again. ]

[ lis'sa stops outside the door, looking back at the others to make certain they're in position, and then nods, pushing it open.

a single operator is at the board, monitoring screens, but he does hear the door and turns, saying "What the--"

zero's ready for that shit, though. he raises and says: ] Boo. [ strange matrix lines shift over the guy's eyes as he crashes his will save, and then looks fucking terrified, visibly shaken and suffering a -2 to his saves and such, so get that shit lila. ]

[ lila hurries forward to recreate the last two times she took out a guard, hand slapping against his wrist to pull it away from his desk. (melee touch atk 22, will save dc 23) it doesn't have quite the same force as the guard that shot emma, but this guy... did not shoot emma, so.

[ haha yeah with his -2 he only got a ... 17 save, so dowwwwn he goes.

lis'sa tosses some zip ties at lila, as zero starts unloading his laptop. ] Get him secured. [ she yanks up her phone to contact zatanna: ] We're in position.

[ lila starts with the zip tying, gun tucked between her knees like that is in any way safe at all ever. the zip ties are so simple, these are gr8. no brain function necessary. which is good because she's starting to not look 100%, a little pale and shaky after cursing three people in quick succession, but maybe it's just worry. ]

[While Zero gets things sorted, Andrew has some time to glance back to Lila and see that she's... Well, she's not looking great (spot 18). Crouching beside her, he sets his gun down and reaches out to take over the zip tying, tightening it a bit, but it's mostly to get her attention.]

You okay? [He says, trying to keep his voice down. He doesn't want to alert the others, but he's also going to check that she's not about to pass out or something.]

I'm fine. [ it's brusque and short, but with no real heat behind it. more like she just wants to move on than any annoyance at being questioned. ] Go do your nerd thing, I've got this. No one else can do anything until you kill communications. Shoo.
