after-party ♔ october

♬ Jeux d'eau - Ravel
WHO || Wynn, any and all Knights not currently on missions (if you are uncertain if your character would be at the castle for this, ask!)ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.
WHAT || Squiring Ceremony Afterparty
WHERE || Knights Headquarters, the Ballroom
WHEN || October 1st, 2014, 6:00PM [backdated]
HOW || Prose OR Actionspam
The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.
Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.
Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

So far this whole thing has been quite an experience, but he hasn't really met anyone his age. And while he's been to parties before, parties like this are definitely outside of the norm for him. Which is why he's kind of just lounging for the most part,
sippingchugging his randomass bottle of soda like it's completely normal to drink it that way.Nothing suspicious going on over here, nope. ]

Hi. You're new, aren't you?
[ run away bb puppy. flee the kitten. ]
no subject
Nope--all him.
He lowers the bottle he'd been chugging from when he turns back to look at her again, still a little like wide-eyed babu but at least he has established that she is striking up a conversation with him so that's progress ok.]
Yeah.
[Oh my God. Speak, Liam. Talking shouldn't be this hard.]
Today's my first day. [/)_u]

I guess congratulations are in order then. [ she holds out her bare hand, smiling sweetly, mismatched eyes cheerful. ] I'm Lila. What's your name?

juice box"soda" all over himself when he reaches over to shake her hand or anything. There might have been little liquor droplets in his lap now tho.]Thanks.
[That awkward moment before awkward silence sets in. But he realizes and counters with--]
Do you go here too? [As if this shit is school or something. Look he didn't know how many people were just randomly here for the party or how any of this worked or what.]

[Is he kidding? Did Stiles make one up on the plane ride home? Bluff check 25 says its very possible.]
no subject
Wait--there's a secret handshake?
no subject
I can't believe they haven't showed you yet. Thank me later. Okay give me your hand.
[He proceeds to go through some weird hand motions, making it up as he goes. I rolled a dex check to decide how complicated this shit gets and it's 14? So not terrible?? But Stiles is the worst for this probably.]
no subject
But it also means he was distracted enough to not ask Stiles what he was doing here or, you know, anything else that might actually be important and/or worth knowing. But once he gets the handshake down and actually feels accomplished he is just going to come out with a--]
Why are you being nice to me?
[Let's be real, Stiles had always been kind of a jerk to him, even when he was professing to be "helping" him--calling him a runt, kidnapping (well, aiding and abetting) him, and generally doubting Liam's usefulness to the group.]

I'm Liam. [Since that conversation sort of stalled. And it served to change the subject too. :D]

Hey, you're Liam, right? I'm Faith.
no subject
Hey.
[But wait, why was she introducing herself to him? Was she here to bust him? He straightens up in his seat a little suddenly, and like caps his drink right quick as if to ~hide the evidence~.]
You don't work at that bar down the hall, do you?
no subject
The bar? No... I'm going to help you become a real boy. [GRIN]
The whole knight gig comes with a personal trainer and I'd be yours.
no subject
Are you a werewolf?
[Did anyone fill Faith in on that little tidbit? If not, surprise! It's a boy/bb wolf cub.]

That being said, she pretty much zones in on him the second she arrives at the party and if she picks up on the fact that he's chugging booze (which she doesn't - sense motive crit fail), she doesn't say anything.]
Hey.
no subject
Liam still lacked control, and being out there on his own was probably just as dangerous to him as it was to anyone he might have hurt if he ever lost his shit and shifted again. It wasn't unlikely given that he was still so affected by the full moon.]
Cora. Hey.
[He sits up a little straighter, like he needs to impress or something. She was the first female werewolf that he'd met, and she seemed to know what she was doing. He wanted her to think that he was just as capable--probably for the same reasons he felt the need to assert himself with Scott and his friends at times--he was used to being the best, not the runt of the pack.]
no subject
They get easier. At least after the first one, not all of the attention is on you.
no subject
[That was really the only part he found to be weird. The party part was actually kind of neat. It would have been a lot better if he had like one actual friend, but he'd met some interesting people.]
Oh, hey, check it out.
[He sets his bottle of not soda down so he can hop up and show Cora ... the secret handshake that Stiles taught him, which is probably pretty ridiculous because Stiles rolled a decent dex check when he made it up.
Yeah this is happening. But when he realizes she's not ... doing it back he just kind of stalls out and looks up at her like buh?]
No one showed you the secret handshake? [Oh you sweet summer child. Look he crit failed his sense motive ok he thought this was actually legit.]

but she's wallflowering and not looking where she is going, which is when she bumps into liam's chair. she sheepishly blurts out: ] Sorry. [ before she actually, you know, looks at him. holy cow he is a baby. and she's just barely nineteen, so she is also a baby. wynn, you need to stop. ] Hi, sorry.

He sets his drink down and proceeds to ... wipe at the wet spot like his hand will magically absorb it or something idek. But when that clearly doesn't work he looks back up at her like]

when he looks up, she holds out a napkin, stained with a little bit of her lipgloss. ]
Here, this should work better.

Liam, however, is a unique case. He isn't sure if he can help him without medication, but he's certainly willing to give it a start. If it turns out he does need medication, then there are avenues he can take, but for right now, he's just there to talk.]
Hey. It's Liam, right? I'm Lance.
[And with that he'll just hold his hand out to shake his - the usual friendly greeting.]
