[ koraith helps in every way he can through the week - a half-dragon can carry quite a bit, at least, but manual labor was never really his forte, and at some points he needs to take a load off. lydia can find him in his office, rubbing his scaly temple, although he looks up with a smile for her, that's no more weary for all they've been through. ] Oh! Sir Martin. Hello.

I hope I didn't come at a bad time. [ She slips in and shuts the door behind her as if to say but I don't care that much if I did. ]

Not at all. What can I do for you?

It's complicated. [ she paces a few steps, trying to keep it in the general direction of a chair to mask the fact that it's pacing. ] I've been thinking a lot about why I'm here.

[koraith]

I see. Certainly a very important thing to ask oneself. And where has this led you?

[immuno]

I joined because ... because I wanted to help people, the way Helen helped me. But now she's gone, and no matter how many missions I go on, how many people I try to save, all I do is show up in time to find the bodies.

I'm not helping anyone. [ She blinks back frustrated tears, gesturing widely with one hand. ] Any time there's a fight, I just — It's like there's nothing I can do. I'm not a soldier, or a wizard. I don't have super strength, or claws, or magic, or a hunting rifle. I can't do anything to protect them.

I've been training with David, but it's not enough. And I have these abilities, but I don't understand them, and I didn't ask for them, and I don't have anyone to tell me what I am or what they mean. That's where it led me. It led me to not knowing why I'm here.

[koraith]

Hmm. [ he considers her words quite solemnly for a moment before replying. ] So I imagine the question becomes... whether you would seek to better understand what you are, or whether you believe this life is not for you.

[immuno]

I don't think I can know the answer to the second until I have the answer to the first.

[ She lowers herself into the chair across from him. ]

Stiles said that back in my world, he found out I was a banshee. It makes sense. When an alpha bit me, I didn't turn into a werewolf. I'm drawn towards death. I can feel it when it's coming. But I don't know how to use it, or if I even can. I've been trying to look into them, but there's just not much there.

I've been thinking I'd try to go somewhere that I could learn more. The invasion just ... made me more sure that I need to.

[koraith]

That certainly seems a well thought out and rational conclusion. [ he nods ] Are there any resources you require from us to make such a trip?

[immuno]

[ resources? ?? ok she didn't think too hard about that. ]

[ that counts, right? there's automation to the reply. ]

... Have you spoken to Sir Stilinski about this?

[immuno]

He volunteered. [ She nods almost solemnly. ] David, um. He's been trying to help me too. And training me to fight. If he wants to come, I'd ... like him to be able to.

[koraith]

That would depend on what Sir Dovan has to say, but it would be very unusual for him to turn down such a request. As you know, we do not require our Knights to remain here at all times. You are free to embark on whatever personal business you desire. As are they.

[immuno]

I know. I just haven't figured out how to ask him yet. Like you said, it's ... personal.

[koraith]

If it helps, I find it difficult to imagine that he would say no.

[immuno]

I find it difficult to imagine he'd be tempted by being our babysitter.

[koraith]

Then I would advise you don't present it as such. Neither one of you are less than capable on your own.

[immuno]

Oh, I know I'm capable. [ Lydia doesn't have any insecurity about her intelligence or ability to persuade people to do what she wants. But ... ] Maybe not at the skills that a tank attack requires, but I'm capable. It's just that neither of us are much good in a fight. Yet.

[koraith]

Then if you are willing to admit to him that you are in need of his expertise, I am certain he will provide it. You all bring your strengths to the task.

[immuno]
