[It's been a bloody time. Everything that's going on, everything that's happened... this was going to be a visit, but he certainly can't leave now. Nadia said she'd be fine on her own. He'll just have to believe her for now, since right now his people need him more. Besides, the castle feels vulnerable just this moment. It's not a secret from the people who matter most, and while it seems unlikely another attack of this size is around the corner, Spike can't help but feel more comfortable knowing he'll be around if it is.

Mostly he can be found doing the heavy lifting parts, during the night shifts at least. During the times he's not, he can mostly be found drinking. Feels like there's more to drink about than ever. Occasionally, he can also be found catching up on his favorite tv shows. Can't bloody work all the time.]

[ she finds him in the bar i guess, later that evening, after jack escorts her off to talk to wynn. spike's the only one in there at the time, and she lingers in the doorway watching him for a moment before speaking up. ] There you are. It's a regular nightmare trying to get around this place to look for anyone right now, you know.

I told that yank with the shield he should have aimed better. That colossus just keeps getting in everyone's way. [He gestures at the seat next to him.] Fancy a drink, love? Since you seem not to be clapped in irons yet.

I'm surprised there's any alcohol left on the premises. So I better take advantage while I can. [ so that's a yes, and she'll slide next to him. ] He certainly wasn't happy with me, but I can't imagine he's very happy in general right now.

[bigbad]

No, he's had a rough week. [His expression sobers. He takes a swig of his whiskey to counter it.] We all have.

[ as she reaches for a glass, she cuts him a look, studying him silently for a bit. ] So, tell me about it.

[bigbad]

About the battle? [He looks over at her and raises an eyebrow.] What, the bad guy gossip networks didn't already fill you in on all the dirty details?

[He rolls his eyes, turning back to his drink.]

Hard to say. Seemed like just a normal day up until the bloody ceiling started raining down on us. Then we looked outside and it was all giant tanks and even gianter... giants.

I meant what happened to you?

[bigbad]

During the battle or in general? You've missed rather a lot of life updates, pet.

Well, the tank took my bloody coat in the explosion. Sure, it could get repaired with magic, but it was still bloody aggravating. I like that coat.

Got to destroy Archer's car, though. That bit was fun.

[It's morning during the several hours when she intends to still be around, so she'll find him catching up on television, stepping up behind him and placing her hands on his shoulders as she leans over to look at him.]

I wasn't sure if you'd still be here.

[bigbad]

[He whips around.]

Elena? [He stands up and pulls her into a tight hug.]

You're back!

[She hugs him back just as tightly, chuckling into his chest.]

Try not to sound so surprised.

They told me you'd vanished without a trace. Bloody rude if you ask me, giving us all a scare like that.

Well, any danger they told you I was in has been greatly exaggerated. I got off easy by comparison.

[She smiles up at him.]

You were missed, by the way.

[bigbad]

Of course. I assume you were all completely miserable without me brightening the place up.

[He gives her a smirk.]

It's good to be back.

[doubletake]

[Her eyebrows lift.]

Does that mean you're back for good, then?

[bigbad]

Not quite sure. But I can't imagine leaving while everything's this much of a mess.

Elena's expression turns sheepish.]

Does that mean it's going to be awkward for you when I tell you that I'm leaving?

[bigbad]

...what, again? [At least she's giving warning this time.] Didn't you just get back?

[doubletake]

No one was going to stop worrying until they saw me, and calling wasn't an option, even if they would have.

[She takes out the new cell Buffy gave her, waving it back and front between two fingers before she puts it back in her clutch.]

Now it is an option, so the answer is yes. Again. Though you're being a little unfair. This last time wasn't entirely my fault.
