[After her discussion with Wynn, Elena spends the next few hours searching out her friends so that she can say good-bye before she leaves. She's fully expecting to maybe see some tears or some attempts at convincing her to stay, but her heart is set now that she has Wynn's permission.

Others wandering around are free to run into her too, though she'll be particularly interested in Failboat members and close CR.]

Look what the cat dragged in. [ it's funny because cats. lila stops fiddling with her new phone as she slows to a stop, eyebrows lifted in question. "where the hell have you been" is the question. ]

[The corner of her mouth lifts in a smirk at the greet before she waggles her fingers at Lila in hello as she makes her way over.]

Don't tell me you missed me. I might actually believe you.

It's been like a week, what was I supposed to miss? [ so nonchalant (because it hasn't been that long tbh) but there is relief in her eyes. it's the not knowing that grates on her. ]

[Her eyes twinkle a bit with amusement at that.]

Fair enough. [With a gentle shrug of her shoulders.] I'm not staying long, though, so you might actually get there this time around.

Aww, running out on rebuilding duty? Ditto.

I don't think I'd be much use around here anyway. Heavy lifting and structural engineering aren't exactly my specialties.

[bittersweeter]

It's, like, one person's specialty probably. Maybe two, if Wynn's lucky. [ but she doesn't seem to care, like shit it's not her specialty either. ]

The structural engineering part, anyway. I'm sure there are plenty of Hide willing to fight each other for the heaviest piece of rubble carried out the lobby doors title.

[ Buffy actually runs into Elena as she's on her way out of Wynn's office! She stops in the hall. ]

Hey! Glad I caught you. [ She digs into her pocket. As if women's pockets have that deep to dig lmao. And pulls out a phone. ] I grabbed this from the Hoard. It's all set up, you just have to program numbers back in.

[Elena's eyes widen slightly in pleasant surprise before she grins.]

You're amazing, thank you.

[She reaches out to take the phone from her.]

I need to go find everyone anyway, so I'll be sure to ask for them.

[slay]

They'll be glad to know you're back. [ her smile is earnest as she hands it over. ] Vi and I weren't the only ones turning rocks over trying to find you.

[Elena glances down at the ground for a moment before she looks back up, her expression mildly sheepish.]

You all sure know how to make a girl feel important. [She tilts her head, looking a little bothered.] This whole thing has just been such a giant mess. I'm just relieved it didn't all turn out worse.

[slay]

No kidding. When I heard Hasmed couldn't find you, we all assumed the worst. Hoped for the best, but ... You know our luck. [ She shrugged one shoulder. ] I'm just grateful you're in one piece.

[doubletake]

I think we've had more luck than you give us credit for, considering the obstacles we've been up against.

[She hesitates briefly, glancing back at where she met with Wynn, before she looks back at her.]

I just spoke with Wynn and, well, you should know. [She quiet again for a moment before finally-] I'm not staying.

[slay]

... What? [ she seems genuinely bewildered by this information. ? ? ? ? ? ]

I won't be gone forever, but I can't stay here anymore.

[Her expression is resolved, but pained.]

So I'm leaving. In a few hours, actually. Wynn said he would recall me when you're starting to get ready to go after Sarandis.

[ thea had never went to track down koraith, feeling it honestly wasn't her place to inject herself on elena's friendships, but when she sees elena in the hall she veers over. ]

[Elena is probably making her way through the halls trying to find various people when she runs into Thea, though she slows her steps as the girl makes her way over, relief in her expression.]

I'm glad you're okay.

I had an easy job. [ she's still limping from the wound to her leg, but watch her just casually ignore that. ] You've been missing for a while...

I'm not sure any of this could be described as easy.

[Just saying. She nods her head a bit.]

I was fine, but my phone was destroyed. It made letting anyone know I was okay a little difficult.

[ she idly wonders if that will be oliver's excuse, too, a flicker of discontent turning her mouth down in a frown. but since elena doesn't make a habit of lying to her about her entire life, thea doesn't think it's an excuse on her part. ]

The one way to keep a millennial down, kill their phone.

Especially when the only public number is connected to a phone in what remains of our lobby.

[At least she tried? Gold star?

She dips into her small bag, pulling out her replacement.]

I have a new one now, though.

Yeah? Cool. Disregard any weird texts from me, I was having a rough couple of days. Hey, do you know if people can be tracked on those things? [ um. asking for a friend. ]

Maybe by GPS? I'm guessing it would need to be turned, though. I'm honestly not sure, I've never tried.
