[Helen loves the garden in spring. But lately, it's looked particularly vibrant and well put together. She wonders if Wynn has hired a new landscaping company. Instead, she finds a lone girl tending to the plants.]

Hello, there. [She says, smiling brightly.] I don't think we've met.

[Actual ray of sunshine, Helen Magnus]

I'm Violet. [ she says as a blanket purple flowers pops up around the shrubbery. ]

[Helen blinks. She's seen plenty of magic to not be completely thrown by it, but she must admit that this is new. She does, however, have a bestie that's a druid, so there's not much of a leap here.]

Was that-? Did you do that?

Huh? Oh yeah, I'm not real big on mulch. [ she could get up and, like, do proper introduction things, but she's covered in dirt and only charming seems charmed by dirt handshakes so she just stays chilling in the dirt. ]

It's beautiful. I love what you've done with it. [Oh right. Introductions.] I'm Helen.

Thanks. Nice to meet you. [ she gives helen a small smile. tomorrow the entire garden will be different, but hey it's lovely now. and that's super nice to know. ]

May I join you? [She is not at all dressed for gardening but look at all the fucks she gives.] I don't know how much help I might be, but if you need an extra set of hands, mine seem to be in working order.

Sure. [ she does actually use seeds sometimes so she won't have to make helen just replant plants she just manifested out of nothing. ] There's some catnip over there -- [ she motions to her chair. ] -- if you want to plant those seeds.

[Fetching them, Helen kneels at a nearby empty plot of dirt and works to get the seeds out of their bag.]

Have a familiar, do you?

Nope, but I figure Kat's cat won't mind the present. And there's enough other cats here to make it a decent choice.

Makes you a bit of a drug dealer, doesn't it?

Between that and the poppies..? I think it could definitely be a new job description. I was thinking about another certain contraband plant, but baby steps.

[She chuckles]

I have a friend who would probably sacrifice someone else's first born for ease of access to that very plant.

Not that I'm suggesting you do such a thing.

I don't think Wynn would honestly mind. And, you know, first born babies have that something about them...

Careful- or someone might think you're part of a fairy tale. Or enacting a plague. I'm not sure which.

I think a fairytale would be easier. Although... [ she pauses, thoughtful. ] My gran was big on plagues. Maybe it's genetic.

So this is a family trait? Your abilities?

Yeah, as far as I know. I mean, I got it from my mom, she... sort of got it from her mom. It gets a little iffy past me.

[daredtobelieve]

So... druids? [It's a fair assumption! She's going with what she knows.]

Not... really. I mean, I guess it's similar. [ she shrugs, but she does know what a druid is. i guess she googled that shit once upon a time. (knowledge: fucking something or other 17) ] My mom's sort of. A goddess. Which makes her mom a goddess. Its all very complicated. My grandad is a slut.

A direct descendent? I've heard that's incredibly rare.

Yeah, that is what I am told. [ another shrug as she coaxes a pale blossom into bloom. the big stuff -- a blanket of wildflowers or brightening the entire garden -- it's not hard, but the individual flowers are how she calms down. one flower at a time. it's why she spends so long out here.

Oh- No, I don't mean to make it sound like that. You're very much a person, dear. Just a rather extraordinary one.

I wasn't insulted, don't worry. [ she turns to give helen a small smile. ] And I'm not that extraordinary either. I just had a special mom. There's people way more special than me out there and they don't have any sort of weird parentage. [ so modest. ]

I've found that it's often difficult for us to see just how important we are. Almost like standing too close to something, unsure how to properly take it in without the right context.
