[ emma finds her in the firing range, eyebrows raised as the target slides down the lane on a wire for her to scope out her scores. ]

Either you've been keeping up with your shooting practice, or I should find a better time to check in lest I wind up on the wrong end of a sincerely bad mood.

[She was kind of in the zone there for a minute... in that she hit two of her four shots (attacks 6, 24, 24, 6 wtf dice). For her? 50% accuracy is an improvement. And she'll blame the last one on the interruption anyway.]

Just ... thought I'd check in. [ her lips purse and she gives a soft shrug, stepping in closer to check out the target as faye lets up. ] This was, for the record, the last place I looked. Well. Obviously, but - [ she rolls her eyes, looking up at faye to clarify. ] You know what I mean.

Maybe you don't know me as well as you think you do? [She gives a shrug, not really angry about it, just sayin.] I talked to Lila. She's not budging. I told her you wouldn't give up on trying figure him out so... [She doesn't know why she put herself in the middle of this. Finally putting her gun down, she turns fully to Emma.] Go nuts, I guess.

Oh. [Faye shifts, a little uncomfortable.] So why are you here?

To check in on you. I didn't ... You know I didn't want to get you stuck in the middle of this, right?

You're sorry for a lot lately. As much as I'm glad to hear you're getting familiar with the word, you don't have to be. [ just so we're clear. no apologies necessary when you're family. she pulls her own gun out and moves to set it on the countertop at the stall beside faye's. ] Does "go nuts" mean you're gonna help me?

[Faye's been thinking about this for awhile. She gets where Lila's coming from. Her business with her boyfriend is just that... her business. But she knows that Emma won't let it go, and maybe if she helps, it'll just be over with faster and they can all move on.]

He doesn't really investigate crime scenes, that's for damn sure.

[Faye never said it wasn't eerily accurate, but IT DOES NOT HOLD UP IN A COURT OF LAW, EMMA. You cannot use this shit as evidence of anything.]

Ask them if they have any consultants too. He doesn't really seem the type to join up officially.

Yeah, good point. I'll search up the name, too. Can't be all that common; if he's gotten up to anything since he's come through the Veil, it'll probably turn up.

[ emma stops with her clip halfway in the gun. she seems to calculate for a moment, remembering. ]

Then, just find Aurelius. Rose and her boyfriend probably don't know anything more than we already do anyway. [ emma's quick to dismiss her tbh. ain't nobody got time for someone who is intentionally starting shit with their teammates at this point in her life. ]
