The streets of Bern swell with the myriad sights and scents of its industry: the wood and polish of carpenters' shops, tantalizing aromas wafting from dozens of bakeries, and the heavy oil scent of artists.  Meanwhile, hundreds of rich colors give the district an appearance of a holiday festival.  The townhouse of Asheron Coyl comes into view, perched on a small rise that overlooks the street.  A low fence covered in vines abuts the street.  A gate opens onto a flagstone path that wends past frozen flower beds, fountains, and sculpted shrubs to the front doors.  A bell hangs next to the gate, reading "Please ring bell" in several languages.  With an 11 disguise check, Nyna didn't really bother to dress all fancy, opting instead for her paladin armor, sorry guys.   She can be the sexy bodyguard.

[ With Gus now free and going after the paint-zombies, Alanna rips her sword free from its scabbard and slashes down against the rope, just a few inches up its length from Stiles' neck to cut him loose (atk 25, dmg 7). ]

[This isn't at all terrifying having his teammates try to slice at the rope that wrapped around his neck. Stiles just...keeps trying to break the grapple?? 18 this time??]

[ dis nasty as fuck. yelling at mellie to back the fuck up -- which she does, retreating a safe distance -- gus calls down a huge column of fire, half of which is divine. (flame strike, dmg 35, ref save 20 for half) ]

[With Stiles free and breathing, she makes sure he is okay - but it's just a cursory glance before she turns and moves to attack the servant that the bear is not working on. She pulls her weapons and moves to strike (atk 24 / dmg 6 | atk 22 | dmg 5) at it's body.]

[Felicity is going to keep her gun raised at the servants, but since everyone is attacking them right now, she's going to move to Stiles, keeping her eyes peeled for any other bad guys that might come their way (spot 26).

[ cara's two quick movements down the servant that's attacking gus, while that divine flame burns the other one right the fuck up. all that's left is that wriggling rope, at the top of which is attached a loudly clanging bell. ]

[ Yeah, while Felicity checks in on Stiles, Alanna will cast produce flame and hurl a burst up at the rope to scorch it (touch atk 25, dmg 8). A fresh, bright purple flame reappears where the thrown flame had vanished from in her palm. ]

[ that singes it up further, but it's still thrashing around like a motherfucker. it tries to lash at felicity but she's just barely out of its reach (atk 10) ]

[Stiles grabs his trusty bat and... tries to bludgeon a rope to death? Does that even work? He has no idea. But he's going to attempt. (attack 20 total, damage 5)]

[ the more fire the better, gus strides toward the rope while casting flame blade, the searing bright flame leaping forth from his hand until it's the shape of a dazzling sword that he uses to expertly slash at the rope. (atk 23, dmg 13) ]

[While everyone is beating on the rope... Cara is going to survey her surroundings to make sure that they haven't missed anything. (spot 24 | listen 23)]

[Felicity is worried about that bell as well, and her gun is still up, ready to attack if something comes out of her the woodwork, so that'll be a readied action (I think? Or held action?) and hope that the rest of them with fire and swords can stop the bell.]

[ the rope finally falls to the ground, listless, and then stops moving, the bell silenced. in the wake of it, there's an eerie quiet that falls across the manor. moments later, however, cara catches sound of motion from behind the wall to the left. There's no direct entrance visible that way, however. there are stairs visible leading up to the next floor, a door on the opposite wall, and a corridor that leads deeper to the right into the building.

Are you all right?

[ Alanna moves to Stiles' side, looking at his throat for markings, touching a hand against his shoulder as she adjusts her sword in her other hand, tightening her grip like she refuses to believe the battle is wholly over. ]

[His neck looks pretty bad... He lost like half his hit points to that rope.]

I've been better. [He says, wincing as he rubs the raw and bruised skin.]

[ Yeah, Alanna will go ahead and transfer some of her Gift into him, purple light emanating from her hand where it rests at his shoulder, trickling up beneath his skin to soothe the pain in his neck (cure moderate wounds for +21 hp!). ]

That should help, for now.

[ gus checks on felicity like is my bb sis okay??? but she seems fine so his once over is cursory and he turns to survey what's left of the rope, crouching down next to it to maybe see if he can figure out how it was enchanted. (spellcraft 20 total)

mellie is just like licking the paint remains. ]

[Cara sees that the injured boy is being looked after, so she moves over to the wall where she heard something. Her hand presses to the wall, hoping for a secret panel (search 3) She's got gloves on... clearly she can't feel a thing.]

I heard something behind this wall.

Perhaps if we explore this floor further, we'll find some way behind it.

[ She's like gurl what are you doing rubbing your hands on the wall. ]

[Felicity nods in agreement with Alanna before glancing around and taking in the different directions they could go (spot 23).]

Looks like it's either down this corridor, out that door - [points to the opposite wall] - or up the stairs. But if the footsteps were on this floor, we probably shouldn't go up.

Let's check the hall first. If we need to double back for the stairs or the door, we can.

It's settled, then. [ Good enough for Alanna, who goes trouncing down that hall at the lead, mostly so that Stiles won't do precisely that and take the brunt of whatever's waiting for them (spot 27). ]
