[She, meanwhile, just busts out laughing.

Oh Andrew, you precious idiot.

She shoves him playfully in the shoulder, her voice exasperated.]

I'm trying to tell you that we already did, doofus! [She hooks a thumb over her shoulder.] I hid the test in the bathroom if you want to see it.

[It dawns on him slowly

so. very. slowly.

But after a moment, his mouth drops open and he just stares at her.]

You mean you..? I mean- we..? You're..?

[Somewhere in all of that is him understanding it. Maybe.]

[She nods, looking positively giddy, like she can't entirely believe it herself.]

Mhmm. Maybe I should have said, 'Merry Christmas Daddy?'

[That word seems to click with him. His open mouthed stare shifts into a dazed smile. When he speaks, his voice is quiet, like he's worried if he says anything too loud, it might make this someone untrue.]

'M gonna be a dad...

[Glancing down at the tiny outfit in the box, he runs his thumb over the fabric.]

An actual dad, and you... [He pulls his attention back up to her.]

Oh my god, you're gonna be a mum. You've got a little person growing inside of you. Holy shit.

I know! Weird, right?

[She looks down at herself and places her hands on her stomach like she's gonna find something there, but she looks totally the same so far.]

I'm not sure the whole Mom thing has quite hit me yet. [She laughs, shaking her head as she looks back up at him.] But it's gonna be one heck of a ride. No getting off now.

[A beat.]

Well, you know what I mean.

[Another time, he would laugh at that comment. Right now, he can't get over the fact that oh my god they are going to have a baby.

Giving the gift box one additional look, he gently tosses it back next to the pile of unopened presents and steps closer to her, wrapping his arms around her and drawing her close.]

Wouldn't dream of it. This is everything I never knew I wanted. You, us- the three of us. Holy shit that's weird to say. Gonna be a proper little family, aren't we?

[Her arms slip around him in return, her chin resting against his chest as she looks up at him, her eyes bright with happiness.]

We've always been a proper family. Now it's just going to be a little bit bigger.

[She leans up, pressing a gentle kiss against his lips before she pulls back.]

I love you.

[She's right of course. But hearing it makes his heart flutter a bit. Falling in love with her all over again, basically.]

Love you too. [He says quietly.] So much.

[He's quiet and content, just happy to hold her and linger in this moment. But something strikes him suddenly.]

Oh my god. We can tell everyone tonight. We should, right? I mean, they'll all be in one place.

[She nods her head, as if she might have thought of that already.]

I'm sure it'll cause a lot of excitement.

[She looks amused, but she's also not sure all the excitement will be....good? It's hard to say. At least she's sure no less than 95% will be good, and frankly she...doesn't care much about negativity. She's happy, Andrew's happy, and that's what matters.]

[He's not sure either. He gets that the fact that he's with Bo is sort of crazy and hard for his parents to wrap their heads around. But it's basically racism and he's not okay with them making a fuss about it.

Maybe they're over it. Maybe giving them a grandchild will make them realize to stop being weird about it.]

Oh, no doubt. But it'll be good. Really good.

Of course it will. When has anything about us been bad.

[She seems completely solid on that fact. He's the best thing that's ever happened to her. Nothing else truly matters outside of that.]

Never has. Never could. [He can't help but grin like an absolute idiot when she says things like that.]

You have a preference on the clerics here to look after you? Probably a little early to worry about it, but... I mean it's not like you hear about half succubus babies happening every day. Personally, I'd say Anastacia would do a fine job. I mean... y'both married Irishmen so you've got that in common.

That's fine by me. I don't know the clerics all that well, so I trust you.

[She just...bangs him to heal up usually, whoops.]

You can introduce me to her.

[Wrapping his arms around her again, Andrew kisses the top of her head and lets out another contented sort of sigh.]

Yeah. There's time for that. Holy shit. I can't believe we're gonna have a baby.

Definitely plenty of time. [A beat.] Actually, I have no idea how much time. I don't really know anything about this.

[Is she on the same timeline as a human would be? Probably....not? Who the fuck knows, tbh.]

Oh fuck, yeah. I guess it's not a given for it to be the normal time frame, huh? [He pauses] I mean the human time frame. Not that it's only normal if it's like a human baby.

[Just casual racism nbd.]

...Anyway- I'm sure the clerics should know more. Maybe.

[It's cool. She's used to it. He catches himself, at least.]

Well, it's at least half-human. [So that's...something?] I would hope so. Kind of their job.

[Thinking about it makes him smile. His baby being half human- or any human- or any ANYTHING. Oh my god he's having a baby...]

I'm not going to be able to keep this secret for long, you know. We're going to have to tell them pretty quick.

Why don't we just tell them today? Seems like the kind of holiday for it.

Guess there's no better present we could give them. First grandbaby. No one would have thought it would be me to have one before Adam, I bet.

Think they'll freak out?

Probably. But that's half the fun. [He has to find it amusing or he'll start to worry about them being racist...]

I hope someone takes pictures of their faces.

[Two can play that game.]

Ooh, that'd be great, wouldn't it? Could tip someone off to record it, but that might not be as fun. Hopefully Adam is quick on the draw.

[She tilts her head toward the door.]
