[ Castle repairs are still well underway, so there's that ever present remaining air of tension in the wake of the attack, but nevertheless it's the holiday season and people want to celebrate.  Any and all holiday season things can go here! ]

[She grins a bit when she sees Olivia, reaching out to take one of her hands gently.]

I just like to spoil all my favorite babies.

[Which, honestly, is all the babies.]

I like giving gifts. That part's always been fun for me, even if I don't actually believe in the holiday.

[Hayley smiles.] You don't believe in the holiday? As in the Santa part or the religion part?

The Jesus part. I wouldn't say I'm an atheist, but organized religion gives me the heebie jeebies. No offense intended to those it doesn't, but I'm not really for people who use it as an excuse to hate on others.

[Between Malina's horror stories growing up and things she hears on the news - yeah, not a fan.]

I'm all for Santa.

[Hayley laughs, amused at the phrasing. She gets it though and she's not the biggest fan of organized religions either - mostly due to her experience with witches in New Orleans.]

It's totally understandable and not to worry, I'm only instilling Olivia with the knowledge that Christmas is for family and food and presents.

Good plan.

[There's a beat as she holds up her fingers and reaches into her massive sack of presents.]

Which, speaking of - for you.

[She places a big box down for Olivia.]

And for you.

[There's a much smaller box for Hayley, which she will also hand over. Inside Olivia's box is the box, which is a toy in itself, as well as assorted plushies and basic books for her to start reading early (words are important). Hayley, on the other hand, gets some nice jewelry for when she gets taken out for a nice night out on the town which someone should. Felicity will babysit.]

[Hayley is surprised that there's something for her. Even if Felicity is meant to be her mentor, she didn't expect anything. Olivia - sure, she will most likely get spoiled by a lot of people this holiday, but she hasn't expected anything.]

Felicity, this is so thoughtful. Thank you.

Of course. Tis the season for lots of giving.

[She just likes buying presents for people, and the holiday gives her a convenient excuse.]

I'm glad you like them.

I do. [She nods and is extremely heartfelt about the sentiment. To say that Hayley doesn't get a lot of gifts is putting it very lightly.]

Want to watch Olivia open hers?

[She nods in agreement.]

Sure. And the box is half the present. I prepared for that in advance.

She still hasn't quite gotten the hang of opening presents, but she's an excellent box slapper.

She'll get there. All it takes is a little dexterity.

[She crouches down to help her by making tears in the paper.]

And sometimes boxes need a good slap, isn't that right, Liv?

[Olivia watches where the tears are being made in the paper. She probably has a look on her face of slight confusion and wonderment, because SHE JUST RIPS IT??? Still she slaps the package and one of her hands catches to the torn part of the paper. That's all it takes and Olivia is peeling the paper slowly back and then... playing with the paper. Not the present.]

I think she thinks she's part cat. Because part werewolf, vampire, witch wasn't enough.

[Felicity laughs a bit at that as she watches her, before shaking her head.]

Sometimes you just want to give into a strong case of shiny syndrome. I think something like that supersedes all genetics.
