[ honestly, it's more that she can't deal with the thought that he's admitting to needing to be controlled, and what that might mean. but she doesn't really want anyone else doing it either. she just... needs a moment here. ]

I understand, Belle. I do. [he's trying to be gentle and not pressure her. even if... it's a lot of pressure.] I can't say it's an ideal situation, no matter which way this goes.

[for considering it, for being willing to discuss it with Wynn... for existing. who even knows. for a second, he lingers there, as silence settles over them, and, once again, he finds he doesn't have anything to say that doesn't just blatantly ignore the yawning chasm that still exists between them.
