[ Castle repairs are still well underway, so there's that ever present remaining air of tension in the wake of the attack, but nevertheless it's the holiday season and people want to celebrate.  Any and all holiday season things can go here! ]

Did you know mistletoe is actually a parasite? It lives in host trees and feeds off their nutrients.

Ew. [ she makes a face, throwing a grape at him. ] I regret asking to be scienced. Science is bad.

[He laughs a bit as he tries to catch the grape in his mouth like an idiot and fails (dexterity 6). But then he'll come up with something better (knowledge mythology 13).]

Culturally speaking it's a sign of fertility, and it's said that you're supposed to kiss anyone you encounter under the mistletoe, and refusing a kiss is said to be bad luck.

[The actual tradition is a lot more misogynistic because the bad luck only befalls the woman who refuses, whereas in Barry's version, bad luck goes both ways, but Barry's drunk and more conscientious than that anyway.]

Bad luck? Just exactly what I need more of in my life. [ oh sarcasm, ever present. ]

Well, we can totally avoid that.

[This is probably the alcohol talking though he's probably thinking like ... a kiss on the cheek or something.]

And technically neither of us have offered, so no one has to refuse and get bad luck.

[ there's asking and there is scooting to her knees on the stool and leaning over to kiss him without offering, thus bypassing the whole refusal aspect until after.

also she's pretty sure of herself so she doesn't think he would refuse anyway. ]

[Yeah, nope, definitely not going to refuse that. He will flounder a bit because he's totally not expecting it, but it's also been long enough since he's been kissed and he is a boy that he's not about to fight it, closing his eyes and just melting into it. His hands will find her waist to steady her, because balancing on that stool is probably not safe, but they won't wander any higher or lower than that.

Barry's a good boy, even when he's a drunk one.]

thea draws back, but it takes her a second to open her eyes, relishing the feel of someone else's hands on her. for a moment, that's it. kiss finished, over and done with, mistletoe gods appeased as she whispers ]

[ but thea really missed kissing and barry is sweet. before she can convince herself to pull away completely, her arms are circling around his neck and her lips are pressed to his again, dangerously close to the edge of the stool as she drags him closer, snug up against her. she is, for the record, a very accomplished kisser. (dex 22) ]

[Barry barely has the time to process the "Merry Christmas" before Thea is kissing him again and really, he's not complaining. He, honestly, really missed kissing too. His hands slide back, so that it's more his arms wrapping around her waist to keep her steady and he's pretty much just going to rock her world with his amazing drunk kissing skills (dexterity nat 20).

You should get drunk more often.

I will keep that in mind. Being drunk is pretty awesome.

[And he's just going to scoop her up and he thankfully rolled a nat 20 dexterity check so they won't die! Probably. It's likely a miracle. That and running probably burns out the remaining alcohol in his system. EITHER WAY off to HQ they go to sleep it off. /scene]
