[ Castle repairs are still well underway, so there's that ever present remaining air of tension in the wake of the attack, but nevertheless it's the holiday season and people want to celebrate.  Any and all holiday season things can go here! ]

Merry Christmas. And you don't have to call me "sir." David is fine.

[Sir feels weird outside of a battle situation.]

David, yes. I'll remember that. [ He tilted his head some after a second.] Can I ask a stupid question? Why is it Merry and not happy?

[He pauses for a moment before shrugging.]

I don't know. I think it's "happy" here in England, but I've from the States. We've always said "merry."

[theshadowspeaks]

[ he nodded before asking another question. Curiosity was one of his weak points.]

Are things truely so different in America? I only know what I have seen on television.

[generaldavideus]

[He pauses before giving a small shrug.]

Probably not as different as we like to think it is. But language is one of those things where it's different no matter where you are in the world. While people might speak the same language, depending on where they are in the world, they'll use it different ways.

Yes, that much I have learned. I had to learn English to come here. I speak Norwegian easier. Words I learned in english do not always seem right here. So that much I am learning.

[He nods in agreement.]

Languages can be tricky that way, but it's still good that you're learning.

I try, I don't want to be a hindrance.

[ He looked around a second before offering another smile.] I should go give Nat her gift now, I hope you have a good night, David.

[ He felt odd the name but it wasn't bad.]
