Right. [ Well she's not asking now. She gapes a little and decides to roll with it. ] But here it is, and with garlands. Does everyone decorate this much for ... Christmas?

Not everyone, but I think they're trying to really pick up the cheer around here after the attacks.

I heard about that. [ aka showed up a week later with starbucks. ] Do you know what happened?

Just what I've heard from other people. I wasn't here when it happened. There was an attack in London that I was helping with. All planned by the same guy- Sarandis.

The same man who King Marcus overthrew on Andres.

Yeah, I think so. I'm still piecing together parts of that. I wasn't around here for it.

[Kansas isn't exactly all that concerned about Andresian politics. I know you're surprised.]

I came through the Veil on Andres; the people are still talking about it. They say things have grown much better since King Marcus returned.

He's one of ours, so that makes sense. I don't know him personally, but I just gotta assume he's a good guy.

One of the best I've met. He deserves better than what he's had to deal with.

Wow, so you met him? That had to be kind of intimidating.

Not at all. He was very kind, and I only met him in the first place because he's been so involved with the efforts to improve the Isle since it was turned back over to him in the battle. Marcus is the one who brought me here.

Wow, a recommendation from the King of Andres to join the knighthood? That's one heck of a start to your life in a new world.

I think it says more of Marcus than of me.

Why not both? Are you settling in okay? Anything I can help with? I'm still pretty new myself, but I know a little.

[ a smile settles over Rey's face in answer to his eagerness, but she shakes her head. ]

Honestly, I've had more people offer their help than I have need of. [ which, by her surprised tone, is strange and new / ?? ]

[He lets out a small laugh]

Yeah, the people here are pretty nice. There's no shortage of someone willing to lend a hand.

Everything I've seen makes me believe if they were able, they'd not just lend it, they'd give it.

I think you may be right. Speaking of lending a hand, I think I'm going to help put up more decorations. But I'll see you around?

[ Rey gestures quickly to allow him back to his business, and though she doesn't apologize verbally, she makes quick work of not taking up any more of his time. ]
