The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia.  Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed:  they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital.  Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn.  They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.  

Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

[des continues to peer into the window.] You'd be right. Genocidal maniacs.

[he sticks his tongue in his cheek.] That must be the king. Just when I thought I was getting used to nobles bein low key, there's this asshole.

[rationalizes]

[ both of them will receive the text from spike ... hooray ]

[Feeling her phone vibrate, Myri checks it and swallows hard.]

It looks like everything is starting sooner rather than later.

[nothingsodivine]

[crit failed listen checks make you oblivious to vibrating phones I guess. Des glances away from the window to look at myri.] Do what now?

[seeing Myri check her phone at least prompts him to pull his phone out of his pocket, scowling as he reads the message.] That greasy scumbag best consider himself fortunate the last time I thought hard about killing him, I had the worst day of my life-and that's saying a lot considering my life.

[also the mission...]

Should we hold our position here, or..? [She feels like the answer is probably yes for now, but she's already antsy about the dangers the others might face without her around.]

Much as it kills me to say it... Yeah.

[hurry up and wait is so not Des's style but he knows how delicate this is.] Anything comes up, we'll hear.

[he gestures to his earpiece.]

[witchwoman]

[Annnnd just as he gestures, Rose's voice comes through. Myri's mouth twists a bit.]

Interesting...

Hah! Jesus Christ, that must make Sarandis the loose cannon out of these guys. That's freakin classic.

[witchwoman]

I can't say I'm terribly surprised. I can't help but wonder just what that might mean for how the rest of them truly feel.

Just goes to show you that not every piece of trash likes the rest of the garbage.

[he runs a hand over his jaw.] let's hope it means they won't put up too much of fuss after this.

[ it's not long after that strains of the wedding march reach their ears even from out here.

dem trumpets are loud. ]

[Hearing the music, Myri tenses and looks to Des, like welp...]

I'm ready for this to be over, once and for all.

[nothingsodivine]

[des lifts a hand to myri's shoulder and squeezes it.] Me too, Little Bit.

[he casts a baleful, expectant look towards the chapel.]

[slay]

[ IN COMES BUFFY, who is quickly shedding the parts of her uniform that make her look gardener-y and trying to pull off casual instead. ]

Someone needs to get in there before the real doctor does. Where the hell is our ambulance?

[nothingsodivine]

They had to make it look convincing. Real paramedics won't get here in two minutes. [He realizes in that moment that she's shedding her uniform.] Blondie, wait. You can't do this- [balking so hard] You're a terrible liar.

[slay]

We'll get to the giant "excuse you" coming for that timely insult when our mission isn't in jeopardy. [ scoff. ] But in the meantime, I don't have to a good liar. I just have to delay them long enough for the "real" paramedics. [ and now she's blowing through Des towards the door and I'm presuming I can keep those rolls from before bc I apparently didn't need her to sneak at that stage but at this one ... ]

[witchwoman]

[Myri barely has time to register that Buffy has entered the room before she's halfway out the door.]

Buffy-- [She keeps her voice down for the sake of...not starting a scene before they actually start a scene, but reaches for Buffy's arm to slow her roll for a hot minute.]

Just... please, be careful.

[slay]

[ Buffy stops just long enough to meet Myri's gaze, locking it and giving her a heartfelt nod, warm and confident. ]

We need this.

[ This win, this plan to work, this end to all of the heartache Sarandis has caused all of them. Myri needs this. Spike does. Kat, and Elena, and Mark, and she's not going to let him weasel away just because he had a doctor friend in attendance.

In the next moment, she's off. ]

[nothingsodivine]

[Des watches her go with an expression of incredulous disbelief, talking to open air as soon as she's snuck inside through the kitchen.] And Elena is.... What? Chopped liver? Mata Hari in a pillowcase?

[he pinches the bridge of his nose.] It's gonna be okay.

[witchwoman]

When has it ever been okay? [Myri says quietly, glancing down as she tries very hard not to give in to the doubt completely. She can't be the epitome of hope all the time anymore- and if she can feel comfortable lingering in the darker thoughts with anyone? It's Des.]

[nothingsodivine]

[he leans against the wall, turning back to the empty lobby in the hopes it'll make the paramedics appear sooner.] Good question.

[he sticks his tongue in his cheek.] The world's fucked, Myri. I just want to make it less so. That means I have to believe everything has to be okay in the end or else why would I bother?

[He perks up as the paramedic crew come rushing in.] They're going in. Moment of truth time.

[witchwoman]

[She's not sure if she believes as Des does. She should, but it isn't the easiest these days. Instead of responding to that part at all, she just focuses on what she can see.]

Stargods, please... [She whispers the prayer as she keeps an eye on things.]

[nothingsodivine]

[Des moves away from the window, since Myri is watching it, and taps his earpiece to turn it on.] What's the situation in there, guys? Is it handled?

[rationalizes]

[ tacked onto that: ] For god's sake, someone tell me what's going on.

[With a voice that's low;] They're letting the Paramedics see to Dimitris so that's something.
