The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia. Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed: they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital. Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn. They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.

Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

[Spike stands still as the grave and watches the proceedings. It seems like justice may yet be served. Even if bloody Mark might be the one to do it.]

[ In the heat of battle and in the absent impotence of distance it had been easy to imagine driving a blade through Dimitris Sarandis' chest in retribution for all that he had taken from them. A million different ways, she had seen this moment unfold, but now that it's here, she can only think of the twist of her gut when she watched Elena put a bullet through Decker's face after he was already down, of the fact that Sarandis was in their custody and could just as easily be imprisoned. Conflict rages in her, in equal part telling her that this is necessary and that it's all wrong, but she does not let herself pass judgment on Mark for it, only nods to him when she sees him and redirects her attention to searching Wynn's eyes for their resolve, for affirmation that there is no other way. ]

[There's an instinct in Myri to run towards Mark when she sees him emerge. So rarely does she see her dear friend these days, but it's clear from the moment he steps off the plane that he's here to help them with the task at hand. Her gaze moves between Mark and Wynn, wondering if they really plan to kill Sarandis now after so explicitly stating that he was to be brought back alive. True, Mark had greater reason than all of them to hate the man. But she thought better of them than that. Perhaps that was only wishful thinking, though.]

Why the fuck didn't anyone bring popcorn?

[Archer is outside the car, relaxing nonchalantly against the side, watching this all unfold eagerly. It's about damn time this asshole lost his head. As Mark walks, Archer quietly quotes;]. Let the hate flow through you...

[ as sarandis is moved, vi heads back to the car, just in time to stretch up on her tiptoes and cover archer's mouth with her hand, whispering ] Shh, Magnum.

[ not that she doesn't agree with him. ]

[Alainn is stuck like glue to Mark's side, her fingers wrapped tight through his, whispering something to him as they come to a stop on the landing.

She takes a moment to take in the scene before her, eyes gliding over the friends she hadn't seen in so many months. They land on Rose, a truly happy smile lighting her features, her fingers raising in what would have to suffice for a hug for the moment.

As Dimitris is brought out of the trunk her gaze narrows, the smile fading as she looks back to Mark.]

[ liam just glances sideways once at des, his lips pressing into a firm line. He doesn't bother with a response. ]

[ his hand tightens in alainn's for a moment, before he finally draws it away, stepping forward towards where dimitris is being unbound. mark glances gratefully at vi as he passes, sparing a small, grave smile for myri that's barely a curve of the lip. ]

[ at that moment, fred jr. walks off from wynn's plane, carrying something in a long narrow duffel. He moves towards wynn, casting a hateful look at dimitris as solace kneels beside him, inspecting him. wynn reaches for the bag, and then nods towards the gates of the airfield, and with a passing nod to mark, kat, and the others, fred moves to secure them. ]

[ wynn looks back at mark, who moves slowly to his side, eyes focused on the unconscious ex-dictator, and the taller man places a hand on his shoulder, drawing his attention. mark looks up at him, and nods once in assent, and wynn gives the order to solace: ] Heal him.

[ tia is the next one off that plane, although she stays close to it, looking uncertainly across the scene, and folding her arms tightly across her chest. ]

[She lets go of his hand reluctantly, knowing that there is nothing she can tell him, can do for him, knowing that doing this, no matter how justified, is going to kill some small part of him.

That bastard had already taken so much away from Mark that the thought of giving him even this much more power over him twists anger deep in her gut. She takes a deep breath, glancing back at Liam briefly before walking over to Rose for support, knowing the other woman will understand without words.]

Hey you.

[Before Rose can follow her own desire to move, Alainn does it for her. The look they exchange saying far more than words ever could.

There is no hesitation as her hand slips out to grip hers. A gentle squeeze as Rose's gaze slides from where Dimitris lays to fix on the friend whose absence had been sorely felt and yet whose presence here and now made it feel like no time at all had passed.]

Hey yourself.

[ Thankfully Vi silences Archer. Obviously this moment means a lot to a lot of people here. His gaze goes over to Rose. Dimitris' latest victim in a long line he knows. He spares a nod to Tia shortly after Wynn insists Dimitris be healed. But he doesn't move from his spot still. That soldier mentality forever worried that something could just crop up and cause a problem. ]

Don't be coy, Lee. [des shrugs.] It's been ages and now here you are caught up in the same mess you accidentally got me caught up in. [he pats him on the shoulder.] Ain't life crazy?

[but okay serious face now.]

[ liam turns to glare at him like SHUT THE FUCK UP DESCANT, incredulity in his eyes, before he turns back to face the scene. ]

[ solace bows his head, one hand on dimitris' chest as he begins intoning a chant, light glowing beneath the palm of his hand. ]

[ wynn opens the bag, and draws from it something wrapped in black. he pulls the cloth off, revealing a shining silver rapier, which he lifts up, examining the point, until the sound of dimitris stirring draws his attention ] What the bloody hell--

[ no sooner does he say that than the point of the rapier hovers right in front of his face, drawing his focus, and he looks up with wide eyes into wynn's face, where the imposing man towers over him. ]

Hello, Dimitris.

[ mark steps up next to him, glowering down at the man with venom in his eyes ] You had to know this day was coming.

[She grips Roses’ hand tightly, then loops an arm through the crook of her elbow, holding tight as she turns back to watch Mark with Wynn, Solace with Dimitris.

She doesn’t add any more commentary, it takes all the willpower she has to just stay put, starting a conversation would be more than she could handle.

As Dimitris stirs, her grip on Rose tightens, eyes focused straight ahead.]

[ as this continues to unfold, vi's hand slowly drifts from covering archer's mouth. she can't say she's particularly surprised by all of this and any inkling she had was confirmed when fred walked out of the plane. of course mark would have his best friend with him.

but it's tia who gets her attention, hand falling to the ring, ever-present, resting on it's chain against her breast bone. will lucia ever get the chance to see what murdered her father brought to justice? probably not. would this sort of justice even be what she wanted? would it bring her any sort of closure? who knows. distracted, vi doesn't even hear what the men are saying, caught up her own thoughts and not struggling very hard to climb out of them. ]

[Elena's attention is mostly diverted between the people arriving until it's drawn over to Sarandis as he regains consciousness, the seriousness of the situation all too clear as it proceeds.

What happens next is between the three in the center of those gathered, and she watches with careful eyes as she waits to stand witness.

No matter what occurs, it will be better than what Dimtiris deserves, but it's not her call to make. Better that those delivering justice can deal with their own actions and find some sort of closure than anything else.]

[Even from a distance, being close enough to hear Sarandis speak causes Myri's spine to stiffen. She freezes and the color drains from her face. She's faced him since she was captured, of course. But there's something about this that strikes her more fiercely. Trauma, unfortunately, is not always logical (will save crit fail).]

So what do you intend to do then? Strike my head off in front of Wynn's soldiers? A boost for morale?
