Cordelia and Steve have gotten together to plan a rather fun party to celebrate Sarandis being taken down. Abbie even managed to grab them a rather awesome band to entertain the guests and everything else was hand picked and decided on by Cordy and Steve. It's not as fancy as a squiring after party, but it's just as fun. The ballroom has been "dressed down" a little to match the relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy yourselves!

Yeah, from what I've heard I think this guy has earned it.

[Barry will just be ... over here, loading up a plate for those ten thousand calories he needs every day, so he's mostly going to be focused on the stuff that's four hundred calories and up.]

I wasn't here when it went down, but I saw the aftermath. Seems like it was rough.

He mind-controlled some psion chick to set me on fire. He's every bit the dick this party gives the impression he was. [ She raises her glass and gestures around. It may be her second by now. ] And every person whose life he touched has earned like ten of these because mine wasn't even the worst of it. He had whole Shadowkind experimentation camps set up on Andres.

[Jesus. It makes all the conversations he's been having about Eiling lately incredibly relevant, because yeah - he was a lot like that but with metahumans.]

Yeah, that ... sounds familiar. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

He was like the posterchild for calling Shadowkind subhuman, but if anyone was less than, it was him. [ She shakes her head, a shudder barely suppressed. ] Major creep.

[He nods before grimacing.]

Glad I never got the chance to make his acquaintance. I've had enough of that in my life.

Yeah, maybe don't charter a trip to Italy anytime soon, then. It's not much better.

I spent most of my time in San Francisco before coming here. Not that I planned to travel to Europe but I guess I'm glad my friend caught word of me when she did.

[hacker]

Hey! Global neighbors. [ She gestures to Barry like they're best friends now. ] LA for me.

[supertardiness]

Oh yeah? Did you come through the Veil too or were you born here?

[hacker]

Veil. [ A tight smile follows. ] But my world wasn't all that different from this one, and it's been a while, so. Low learning curve. More like a learning slope.

Ah. It's still under a year for me, so mine is more like a learning roller coaster. But I'm figuring it out, one way or another.

[hacker]

Right when you think you know what's up, it pulls the rug out from under you? Yeah. Sounds about right.

Thankfully, I'm pretty fast on my feet, so I recover a little quicker than most. Still, this world is a little crazier than I'm used to.

[hacker]

I think It's crazier than most are used to. You're not alone.

Though oddly enough, I feel way more ... open here than I do back home.

Open with ... ? [ Skye shakes her head. ]

[Oh. He probably should have led with that.]

I'm what they call a metahuman, back home.

[hacker]

Metahuman. What is that, like psionic?

[supertardiness]

Kinda. It's more just general powers though.

[He's learning the lingo here, slowly but surely.]

I don't have mental powers just physical ones. I'm really fast. And where I'm from, metahuman powers vary depending on the person and the circumstances with which they became one, so no two metahumans are the same.

[hacker]

Well, yeah, the same can be said of psions. It looks different in everybody: like magic.

[supertardiness]

[He gives a small shrug.]

I guess that's true. I'm still not sure where I fit in everything, and I haven't seen a psion control the weather yet.

[Though it could ... probably be possible?]

[hacker]

That is kind of cosmic magic-level, but hey, it could happen. You never know. I think there's more we don't understand about psionic powers than magic by a long-shot still.

Huh.

[He pauses before giving a small shrug.]

Well, they've got me all hooked up to the Hoard computers, so maybe they'll have an answer for where I fit on the spectrum sooner rather than later.

Well, aren't you a patient little lab monkey.

It's what I was doing back in Central City. I was basically patient zero for all metahumans, so the people I was working with were always running tests to make sure I was healthy and my body wasn't doing anything weird.
