[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from Dimitris' wedding.

A robotic pango— Why?

Because I'm taking requests for nonsensical tech, apparently. [he screws something into the pangolin's little metal tummy.] It's fine, just keeping my skills sharp.

[hacker]

Requests. [ She makes a face. ] So that's supposed to be useful to someone? What is it, the weirdest undercover mission ever?

It could be useful, depending on what mods she wants. Just working on getting it walking right now. What kind of noises do pangolins make? Forget it, it's just gonna beep. It'll be cute.

[hacker]

[ All Skye can offer him is a perplexed shrug of her shoulders like fuck if I know I've never even seen a picture of one what the fuck is a pangolin. ]

Who's she?

Kali. You know her?

[hacker]

She's my best friend. [ Suddenly, the interest is much more personal, and Skye heads over to examine it. ]

[builtinacave]

She's something. [the outer skeleton seems more or less complete; all the stuff he's working on is internal.]

[hacker]

Yeah, one of a kind. [ steps right over one in a million and into soulmate territory. She reaches out to poke at the outer skeleton without permission. ] So you're making her, like, a pet roomba?

[builtinacave]

[he doesn't fuss over it so w/e.] You think I should give it roomba capabilities? I can do that. It'll pick stuff up with its snout.

[hacker]

That's ... actually weirdly adorable.

That's what I'm going for here. It's going to be the best — and probably only, I haven't really checked — robotic pangolin the world's ever seen.

[hacker]

I don't know that that's a product gap that needed to be filled, but you know, if it's what Kali wants ...

[builtinacave]

She specifically said pangolin. I didn't even know what the hell they were until I started working on it.

[hacker]

[ shrug ] Sounds like Kali. So is he almost done?

[builtinacave]

Just about. He just needs a few final touches.

[hacker]

Does this mean I get to see the test drive?

[builtinacave]

Sure, why not. Just have to close him up ... [he closes up the pangolin's insides, sets him up right, and pushes a button under the pangolin's chin. at which point it turns on and makes cute little beeping noises. it's adorable.]

[ Skye's jaw drops and her eyes widen like thaT IS THE COOLEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN. ]

You think Kali's gonna like him?

[hacker]

Are you kidding me? She's gonna love it! That is so cool!

[builtinacave]

Here's hoping so. [the pangolin scuttles over in front of skye and beeps in her face.]

[hacker]

[ Grinning, Skye taps her finger against the closest thing it has to a forehead. ]

I didn't realize you two were so close. What is this, are you trying to score a date?

With Kali? No, she's not exactly my type. It was more for the thrill of making things again. Training wheels before I move onto heavier things.
