[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. What is parallel parking?

It's when you park longwise between two already parked cars.

Makes sense. What makes it tough?

It's hard to maneuver in there without hitting the other cars or the curb, or the meter on the curb...

Sounds like a design flaw. Aren't cars intended to be able to park that way? Why haven't they made it easier?

You'd have to ask them that. But now they make cars that parallel park themselves, so it's probably come up before.

Why would you want a car to park itself? There's no way a system like that can function as efficiently as a real driver.

Uh, some drivers are not... the best.

Then who allows them to drive?

[withasouvenir]

The people that give them the license. There's a driving test and if you pass it, you can legally drive, but because it's humans and human error and judgement happens all the time, some people pass even though they shouldn't. And then there's old people who should have their licenses taken away but they hang on to them anyway.

This seems like a terrible system. Won't anyone just tell them that they're not any good at it? Why would they continue? It's dangerous.

Bureaucracy? I dunno. I agree though, it's not the best system. [ she claps rey on the shoulder. ] Belated welcome to Earth, we're kind of a hot mess.
