[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from Dimitris' wedding.

I think that's true for most lives, not just ours. You learn to look on the bright side.

[She looks like she has about a thousand things dancing on the tip of her tongue, words getting stuck in her throat but she manages a small, albeit grim smile as she bobs her head.]

Yeah, something like that I guess.

[Felicity eyes her for a moment, trying to gauge her response before she adds to it (sense motive 23).]

There's enough shit in life. I try not to get bogged down in it.

[It wouldn't be too hard for Felicity to tell that Rose doesn't put much faith in bright sides these days but it would be equally clear, she's not one for talking about the reasons why.]

Yeah? How's that been working for you? [Managing a wry grin that lacks any real mirth.]

[She considers before giving a small shrug.]

I have a person I love, surrounded by family, adorable niece to spoil, a job that I'm fulfilled by - I'd say I'm doing pretty well.

[Rose nods slowly as Felicity speaks, a small, half smile touching her lips.]

Sounds like you don't have too much to bog you down, then. [Tone light and easy.]

[She shrugs.]

We all have our baggage. I try not to dwell on mine.

[littledhampir]

[Her mouth opens but she appears to bite back the words dancing on the tip of her tongue, shaking her head as if to dismiss it.]

Not a bad way to be.

[She catches that, watching her for a moment before glancing back down at her drink.]

It works for me.

[Such a productive conversation. But at least they haven't started yelling at each other yet.]

[With a nod Rose lets the silence return, taking another sip of the drink that appears to be doing very little to relax her.

Unfortunately this appears to be a day where getting Rose to engage in small talk is a lot like pulling teeth. But at least, there is that.]

[Well, Felicity won't force her. She will knock back the rest of her drink, and grab the bottle she poured from, preparing to take it with her.]

[And with that she will make her way out unless Rose intends to stop her.]
