[ It's been an eventful morning downtown.  After a troll hit up a bank and the customers within, he went on a violent rampage through police officers attempting to escape, that have ended with a standoff.  He is currently holding a busful of people hostage, surrounded by squad cars downtown, and the Knights have been charged with helping contain the situation without any civilian casualities... ]

[ surveying the scene, kali sweeps her hair up into a ponytail before turning her wide eyes to gwen. still in jeans and a tee shirt with green converse, she looks like a normal bystander, not a tiny killing machine. ]

Plan?

[Rocket's still on Groot's shoulder so HE CAN SEE EVERYTHING. he's loaded for troll with his machine gun on his back and his two Excalibur pistols on his hips. everyone loves seeing heavily armed wildlife in the city, I'm sure.

He's looking at Gwen like he hopes her plan involves violence of some kind at some point.]

[Violence? Who needs violence? Of course that doesn't stop Gwen from walking in with a holster bearing two guns beneath her jacket as well. She hopes for the best, she plans for the worst okay. #torchwood.]

Find the person in charge so we can be briefed on anything we may have missed. [Talking as she walks, Gwen breaks out a Nat 20 Spot check so... finding the Command Post should be easy?] I'd like eyes on that bus if we can - [Glancing at Rocket & Groot cause. Shoulder Racoon?] - and... Surveil the crowd. [Edain and Kali.] Just see if there's anyone who looks a little too interested. That Troll was scared and I'd like to make sure the reason isn't here.

Yes - [A but there.] We don't want to spook him if we can help it though. This may still be resolved without anyone else getting hurt so lets not rush in unless we have to.

I think we all know where this is goin'. [ and there's harried police chief jared o'keefe hovering by one of the squad cars, talking on a walkie-talkie, running a hand through his dark hair ]

[But they're supposed to listen to the nice lady so he'll listen to the nice lady.]

[grimacing at being relegated to scout, Rocket takes to surveying the area for either shady characters observing or any sign of disturbance from the bus itself (spot 30)]

[And Gwen will beeline for Jared (idek if she knows who he is. Possible?!) and wait a moment for him to be able to speak.]

Looks like you're having a day. [Smile tight.] I believe you're expecting us.

[ jared looks up, a little relief in his eyes at the words. he runs a hand through his dark hair, giving a humorless snort ] Yeah. Yeah, you could say that.

[Groot smacks his chest with a wooden fist.]

Yes. What he said. [A beat.] I think? [Smile tight as she offers him her hand.] Gwen Cooper. Can you update us on the situation?

[ jared's eyebrows climb a bit at the tree but uhhh he'll move past that fast enough ] Not much to update right now. He's been threatening to eat passengers anytime we try to negotiate or get anyone close, so so far we haven't wanted to test that theory.

I can get close... [he's just saying. of all of them he is the smallest.]

But you smell like a-- [ she stops herself before she says rodent. BUT IT'S TRUE. RACCOONS DON'T TAKE THE BUS. ]

What's my smell gotta do with anything? I could sneak in through the back or somethin'. I'm small.

[gwenbloodycooper]

No... I don't suppose you would. [A hand running over her face as she considers their next move.

Looking to Rocket.] Think you can get close enough to at least hear what's happening in there? Don't try to engage just, try and get a sense of things?

[Rocket tugs on his ear.] You got it, lady.

[ jared looks uncertain, but nods at gwen's decision ] Alright, just disengage immediately if it looks like he's going for a civilian, understood?

[beatupgrass]

Don't sweat it. He won't even see me. [and with that, he climbs down Groot and weaves into the crowd, all but vanishing (hide 20 total), staking out a spot near the bus's tire to hide and listen (listen 28)]

[gwenbloodycooper]

He'll be fine. [Smiling tightly at Jared as she watches Rocket leave.] Is the bus equipped with a two way radio? Something we could use to contact him without half of London being able to hear?

[ jared sighs and gives her a look that conveys just how gr8 his day has been ] ... He smashed it.

[ as rocket gets closer to the bus, he can hear... some kind of fucking racket inside. it's easy enough to see the troll through the windows - he's huge and his head goes to the ceiling, but he seems to be flailing around at something small and fast inside, while passengers scream a bit and try to keep away ]

[Groot stands near the others as Rocket goes off, his eyes locked on his small friend as he heads toward the bus.

He's not concerned that he'll get eaten by a troll. Nope. IDK what ur talkin' 'bout.]

[squint. Rocket's gonna take advantage of the troll's distraction and try to get a better look by climbing up on the tire (climb 15) and using it as a stepstool to peer in (spot 30).

[A large orange cat hisses angrily at the troll as it leaps from seat to seat. It yowls, baring its teeth, clearly unimpressed by the entire situation.]
