[ It's been an eventful morning downtown.  After a troll hit up a bank and the customers within, he went on a violent rampage through police officers attempting to escape, that have ended with a standoff.  He is currently holding a busful of people hostage, surrounded by squad cars downtown, and the Knights have been charged with helping contain the situation without any civilian casualities... ]

[ jared sighs and gives her a look that conveys just how gr8 his day has been ] ... He smashed it.

[ as rocket gets closer to the bus, he can hear... some kind of fucking racket inside. it's easy enough to see the troll through the windows - he's huge and his head goes to the ceiling, but he seems to be flailing around at something small and fast inside, while passengers scream a bit and try to keep away ]

[Groot stands near the others as Rocket goes off, his eyes locked on his small friend as he heads toward the bus.

He's not concerned that he'll get eaten by a troll. Nope. IDK what ur talkin' 'bout.]

[squint. Rocket's gonna take advantage of the troll's distraction and try to get a better look by climbing up on the tire (climb 15) and using it as a stepstool to peer in (spot 30).

[A large orange cat hisses angrily at the troll as it leaps from seat to seat. It yowls, baring its teeth, clearly unimpressed by the entire situation.]

[Rory Williams is having a really terrible day. Seriously terrible day. He did not sign up for getting taken hostage by a troll today, but apparently that's what his day is going to be. And now he's trying to keep the troll calm, but also make sure that everyone makes it off the bus alive, including the driver who is in bad shape (diplomacy 19).]

Look - none of us are having a good day right now. And I know that you're currently threatening to eat us but on the off chance that you decide against that, you don't want any of us dying.

[would you believe Rocket got a 22 knowledge (alien) on that fucking cat, because of course he did. having seen enough and looking like he's DEEPLY SORRY FOR THE TROLL, he jumps back down and runs back to the group, hissing once he stops at Jared and Gwen's feet.]

[Rory doesn't need to be told twice. He goes to drop down next to the bus driver with his med kit and try to stabilize the bus driver (treat injury 36).]

[Rocket stops tugging on his ears long enough to look up at Groot.] Yeah... Groot here's good at shieldin' people with his body. If we can just keep the troll focused between us and the flarkin' flerken, he won't be able to shoot the hostages and Groot and whoever else can get 'em out.

Alternatively. [It's like she's on the set of Lethal Weapon 5.] We could consider an option that wouldn't see a member of this team act as a living shield and revisit that one as a last resort?

Was the Troll at all aware of what he was dealing with?

I'd like to at least try and negotiate this peacefully... All the same... [What she'd like and what it will be isn't necessarily the same, okay.]

Rocket, if you can go back and monitor things. Everyone else be on standby should things start to go south. We may have to resort to plan B and fast. [Turning her attention back to Jared.] Barring any other method of communication, I don't suppose you happen to have a megaphone handy?

jared, however, leans into a nearby car and pulls one out, still attached by a curly cord to the inside of the vehicle.

[What a great plan! Too bad no one filled in the flerken.

Chewie has been having a pretty bad day. Really, she's been having a bad time ever since she showed up on this version of Earth, alone without her human or her children or anyone familiar. And on top of all that she had to deal with a troll.

But! FINALLY! She sees a familiar face (spot 19)! She meows loudly and changes direction, dodging under the trolls arm to go up to the window and bump her head against it.]
