The acting Heads of the Knighthood - Hasmed and Solace - have made a decision that is not easy for many. Given the terrible state of everything happening in America, they've decided to relocate operations entirely to the States, and have secured a facility vaguely near Las Vegas: agreeing to work alongside the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization to find a way to take down Blade. It is certainly possible, with the grim missions that lie before them, that many, or all, of the Knights may never return. Reactions to the announcement are certain to be strong, but it's time to choose what they will bring with them to their new life - and for some, to decide if it's a journey they can bring themselves to take.

Most of the facility is underground, and the Knights are each granted badges that will act as keycards to get them into the barracks area that has been sequestered for them in its own building (called the Enclave), as well as to access the other rooms that are open to their use. It is more or less similar to this, but scaled up in size to account for the larger numbers of people housed on base. There are separate buildings on the base compound for the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (The Sanctuary) and for those members of Hellsing (The Bulwark) who have relocated as well. The entire compound itself is referred to collectively as "The Harbor". Peter Fargason will continue to run training drills daily, attempting to mold the Knights into a more efficient combat unit, and Hasmed, Solace, Koraith, Dovan, and Lis'sa will continue to assign missions to members of the Knighthood, ostensibly aimed towards slowing the tide of monsters and evil doers heading to Los Angeles and protecting Shadowkind in America from the "war on Shadowkind" being waged by the American government, as non-humans are being rounded up as potential threats to the country. Hasmed and Solace have assumed joint leadership of the Knighthood, and appointed no Dragon's Claw to replace either the deceased Sir Bancroft or the now gone rogue Sir Chessing.

Gone is the eclectic decor of the castle rooms, replaced by a much more uniform look to each assigned barracks, which, unfortunately, sleep two to a room because of restraints on space. Feel free to sign up for a roommate on the thread on this post. In fact, everything here is much more polished, state of the art, and modern, which is a jarring change from the castle. How well people adjust may depend on quite a few factors... but for now, they are free to attempt settling in.

If we did, I was apparently not hip enough to know about it.

So distinctly possible then. [ That grin. ] Come on you made that way too easy.

I'll have you know back home I qualified as very hip. The hippest, even.

Did you have to tell people that back home as well? [ Shit. Eating. Grin. ]

[ This is her disbelieving face. ]

They make action figures of Science guys?

[ stepping backwards from her and spreading his hands ] Don't pigeon hole me.

[ Her hands raised as if to placate him. ]

Just not sure the same can be said of the kids.

I'm more of an engineer than a scientist, per se.

[tasings]

[ Still not sounding worthy of an action figure, but sure.

Takes a lot to impress Darcy okay. You may not know this but ya know. She knows a God. ;) ]

So you build stuff? I can see how that might be marginally more appealing to the younger set.

It was more the whole 'superhero' thing they were into.

[tasings]

Superhero... [ TMW... you're not sure how much Darcy would actually know about the Superhero concept in this world.

Yup. ]

Exactly how does a person go from Engineer, to superhero? Is this a building suspense thing? Cause. I'm friends with a God. I'm not easily impressed.

[ She may be using the term friends broadly. Very. Very broady.

He made her breakfast once it counts. ]

Because what I used to engineer were weapons of impressive mass destruction, until I got myself captured by terrorists who were using one of them, and a piece of shrapnel stuck in my chest, ready to kill me at any moment.

Call it a wake up call.

[tasings]

That'll do it. [ A humorless snort of laughter escaping as she stares at Tony. ]

So... reformed douchebag turns superhero. [ Squinting. ] How? I get the why, obviously but... was it magical shrapnel?

I mean. No offense but, give me a baseball bat and I'm pretty sure I could take you.

[hyperverbose]

[ as he moves over to press some buttons, oh so casually: ] I built a supersuit.

[tasings]

[ .... ]

Like 007?

Not that kind of suit. [ he clicks another button and abruptly some of the floor opens up, and a giant metal case rises up out of it. this is totally fine and was always like this. ]

[tasings]

[ Darcy takes a step back like she legit things guns are about to be trained on her and she's going to get blown to pieces for the twenty questions.

After a moment she turns her head to stare at Tony. ]

Who. Are you?!

tony's only response is a tiny smirk as he presses another button and the case suddenly opens with a compression hissing sound revealing the fully mounted mark 46 suit.

abruptly, the eyes suddenly light up, which is shocking in and of itself, but then the individual pieces of the suit fly off from their display and grapple themselves into place on tony's body, one at a time. he barely reels from the impact of any of them, making it very clear that he's accustomed to this, and when the visor locks into place, he turns towards her in his full metal glory, fixing her with those slitted illuminated eyes ]

I'm Iron Man.

[tasings]

[ It's that Will Save 19 that manages to keep her from ducking behind the workbench out of fear of flying objects, though it's hardly enough to keep from starting at the eyes that glow in their display, nor to keep Darcy's mouth from falling as the suit assembles itself around his body.

Even his words don't see her respond right away, the brunette refusing to blink just in case she misses something.

Then without warning, laughter bubbles up and spills past her lips, a near hysterical sound that holds both mirth and wonder. ]

Ho-ly crap! That was awesome! [ A beat. ] I mean the name... could use some work but still! Check you it. You're a regular modern day tin-man.
