The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

I do love an excuse to escape a formal event. [ she holds out her arm like a gentleman. ] I'd be happy to.

[Myri gratefully accepts her arm with a small smile.] I'll have to find a way to repay you some day.

[trebond]

There's truly no need for that. [ she'll guide myri right out the ballroom doors. ] I've been twelve years a knight, even before joining Wynn's cause. They spent a great deal more time on the laws of chivalry in my land. I'd be remiss to leave you without a guide.

Was the Knighthood you were a part of similar to this one? Did you fight for the same causes?

[trebond]

I fought for my Prince and country, the greatest cause there is. [ hearts in eyes uguuu jon. ]

[witchwoman]

I suppose this must be very different for you, then.

[trebond]

Not entirely. I fought for my Prince because I believed in what he wanted for my land. I believe that of Wynn, as well, for this world.

[witchwoman]

To protect it from the villains of this realm?

[trebond]

Precisely. We fight for the best of people. That's a cause I'll take up my shield for any day.

[witchwoman]

And it certainly does not hurt that Wynn has so many resources.

[trebond]

Took a good deal of time to get used to those resources for a person who comes from a land without quite so much convenience.

[witchwoman]

What would you say surprised you the most?

[trebond]

Microwave ovens.

[ she wrinkles her nose. The spinning tray and the lack of fire is ... well, perplexing, to say the least. I'm not entirely sure I could say I understand how it works now, except that it does make those noodle cups edible.

[witchwoman]

[She suppresses a smile, amused.] I was speaking more in terms of what the Knighthood had to offer for resources.

[trebond]

So was I.

[ MICROWAVES ARE RESOURCES. alanna worked for the crown in her world, she's no stranger to resources. only advancements of those resources. ]

Fine, then. Microwaves it is.

You must tell me, at least, what I've missed while I've been away.

[trebond]

Nothing of considerable import. A great deal of missions, a great deal of parties. Mostly isolated policing of Shadowkind interests. We find a routine, here.

[witchwoman]

It sounds very... comforting, in a way.

[trebond]

Are you in terrible need of comfort?

[ alanna takes a good look at her, finally, given myri's remark. ]

Maybe I'm just in terrible need of a change.

Well, we've got plenty of that. Wynn should send you on another mission before April's out.

[witchwoman]

[Something in the idea of that seems to make her slightly uncomfortable.] I might... take a break from mission work, actually.

[trebond]

Why's that? Not a great deal worth sticking around the castle for, unless you've designs on the Wii bowling high score.

[witchwoman]

I have more to learn than I thought I did.
