The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ she smiles slightly ] I suppose my problem is that I'm not specialized enough. I have a lot of training across the board, you could say.

Some might say it's a talent. Being able to play in different field is always handy. Sometimes, only having handsome face is not enough to get out alive from dangerous situation. [He smiles back at her as he compliment himself.]

I'm sure Wynn saw more in you than just a handsome face.

Well, I hope so. Don't want this face to disturb his judgment of my other qualities. [He laughs a bit.] So, what stories Andrew has been spreading around about me?

He's not really the gossiping type. You're lucky that way.

I guess I am. Andrew can be a bit edgy sometimes, but he is always dependable when you need him. What about yours? I'm guessing you're not as lucky as I am?

I managed alright. But my squiring days are in the past now.

What about you? Do you know what sect you'd be interested in, when you graduate?

Well, I was planning to join Dragon's Tongue, but since you brought it up, maybe a freelancer would be a better choice. I am good with people, but rather than persuading people to do things, I am better at finding people who will do things.

Not everyone in the Dragon's Tongue has to be a diplomat, either. [ still, she gives him a curious smile ] "Do things"?

Yup, things. All kind of things. From actual cleaning services to less literal cleaning services. But your money is better spent when you want to find the latter though, since buying Yellow Pages is far much cheaper than paying my service.

[ she chuckles warmly ] So you're a fixer.

That is correct. If you need anything, just find me and I'll give you the best services in the market. And for a wonderful lady like you, I'll make sure to put in some freebies.

That's an interesting line of work. Can I ask how you got into something like that?

Well, I have a P.I. brother. He is the type who gets into troubles while making enemies on the way. Several years ago, he got dragged into something people wouldn't want to get dragged into. While trying to help him out, I found out I had a knack for solving problems by making friends. Also seeing there were lots of people who were like my brother, I decided to try the line of work. Long short story, I managed to save my brother and establish a good rapport with the locals. Pretty amusing, if you consider I was planning to be a profiler. Life surely has ways to keep things interesting.

That it does. [ she smirks to herself, as if amused at some private joke, that's only half funny ] And now you're here.

Yeah, now I'm here, working as a hero in training. Getting back on the brighter side of the road as I've dreamed before. [Even though he became a criminal for a good cause unlike most of his "friends", turning into a hero who saves the world somehow feels like he is backstabbing the likes of him. He smiles sarcastically as he release a heavy sigh.] What about you? What's your stories?

Believe it or not, I was planning to be a literature professor, once upon a time.

So, you're one of parallel worlds' refugees, huh? That must be quite hard. Seeing a world that looks the same, yet different.

I'm still not quite sure I'll ever be able to get my head around it, to be honest.

I understand. [He nods as he puts on a smile that is somehow forced to hide his sadness.] It's pretty hard leaving something behind without having any closure, but it is harder to be constantly reminded of it.

I don't know if it's the lack of closure even so much as the... stepping into a storybook.

[Brantley has been living his whole life in this world of fairytale. So, it feels less storybook and more biography to him.]Well, I guess this world does feel like a storybook in a way. But that's what makes this world interesting, right? After all, a storybook full of interesting characters and plot twists is much more interesting than a dictionary.

I didn't say it wasn't interesting. I'm just used to things being a lot more... black and white.
