Talk about a soiree.  The team has walked into what is clearly legitimately a Gatsby party, but with an Indian flair.  Even upon approach, it's easy to see that this place is without parallel:  people are driving cars right up on the lawn of the fabulous mansion, which looks half-modern and half like a palace out of a Bollywood film.  Men and women in bright colors, fabrics, beads and silks move inside en masse, and as the doors are opened before them, they can see the grandness of the interior, with its diamond garland, draped fabrics, giant jeweled elephant statues, indoor trees that arch to the ceilings, twirling dancers, and a tall dramatic staircase leading up to a balcony above where the host himself reclines surrounded by admirers and friends, smoking a cigar.  

Liquor flows freely, and food is carried around on golden trays through the crowds.  It's an overwhelming buffet for the senses, a dizzying spectacle of color, laughter, dancing, and entertainment.

[Andie's missed most of this conversation because she's vanished, but by the time they're done she's back, rapier strapped to her waist, holding a bag of food from the hotel and a t-shirt. She may have kind of sort of stolen it, but she left money and a note, so it's all okay right?!? They're working on limited time! She holds out the shirt to Alex. It's a little big, but not to a crazy degree.]

[In a comical move, Alex pinches the bridge of her nose at the exact same time as David, refocusing on Andie as she returns way too quickly for Alex to comprehend how she did it.]

Uh - thank...you? [The question mark is for the shirt but look, beggars can't be choosers and she offers a grateful nod all the same.] You're just in time for phone guy over there to come back and tell you all what your boss is currently telling him.

I'm an asset of the Knights of the Silver Dragon. I have been for the last two years. [She at least looks a little chagrined.] Didn't expect you guys to be here.

after this turn of events, alexander is just going to start texting lila. because he can't go out back and have a smoke, which is what he actually feels like doing rn.]

[Look who's rejoining the conversation. David's off the phone and back in leader mode, and he addresses his team first.]

Wynn's getting us transportation. We're going to head back to the hotel and suit up - this is probably an into the fire sort of situation, so make sure you're battle ready. And if one of you has a laptop, we're going to need it.

[Don't ... ask. Then he turns on Alexandra.]

Wynn said to bring you in, but I'm the leader on this mission. If you have a problem with that ... suck it up.

[He won't kick her out, but he won't really tolerate insubordination either. Sorry. And finally, he directs his attention to Thor.]

You can work with us or we can work around you - it wouldn't be the first time I had to plot a rescue mission around a god pissing match. But we're going in for Natasha. Working with us makes all our lives easier, but that's up to you.

[meanwhile alexander feels sort of sexually attracted to david rn. even if he isn't really feeling the decision, he's not the type to rail against the leader usually. and he loves a man who takes charge ok. david is invited to his fuckfest with thor tbh.] We can't just use our phones?

[ The Doctor has stood quiet for a moment, but really, that's more than enough to make him speak up. He's seen a lot of things, but well, that one's new. ]

[He holds up his hands because he's not a technical person at all.]

Wynn says he knows a technomage who knows who a spell which can ... transport us through the internet.

Does anyone actually need to go back to the hotel for their gear or can we just send Andie back to grab a laptop?

[He also wouldn't mind changing his clothes, but that's irrelevant, the sword is the important thing.]

And Wynn said the computer needed an internet connection. Can we get that here?

What sort of tricked out party mansion worth its salt isn't gonna have wifi? [snort.] But yeah, fine, I guess we can head back, then.
