To be fair, I just told you I wasn't a very good cop. But that was more because I had trouble pulling the trigger, than my ... assertiveness. I worked for the FBI, before I came through the veil.

I couldn't handle taking another life. It was just ... too much. I'm an empath. [that sentence feels weird as fuck coming out of his mouth, like saying ~i'm a unicorn~, but ... it's what he is???? w e i r d.] I, um, acclimated, though.

[She waves a hand.] It's not the killing people bit that bothers me. They're just... messy. And loud. And it's really easy to blow your own head off with that crap. And I've read some mission reports- friendly fire happens way more than I'm comfortable with.

There are other weapons you could use, you know.

I'm looking into it. [No. Really she is.] I just haven't found one that speaks to me yet.

[She waves her pen.] I'm sort of a "pen is mighter" kind of chick. And they make terrible melee weapons.

[he nods, understanding.] Have you considered a taser?

[theshameofcain]

A taser?

[She blinks a few times, considering that.] ...That might actually work.

Or a stun gun. The only difference is range. Tasers are a ranged weapon, stun guns aren't. I'm pretty sure I've seen both in the armory.

Stun guns. Now there's the best of both worlds. I bet you can still be intimidating as shit with one of those.

[knowledge: idk weapons and shit 17??? he used to be a cop, ok. HE USED TO BE A COP.] Tasers are actually worse, for dealing damage. To use a stun gun, you have to let someone get close, and you're only dealing pain. It's over as soon as you let go of the button. Tasers have darts that pierce the skin, and can disable someone's sensory nervous system. Incapacitating.

[he almost sort of half smiles. oh and i guess he's been eating ramen this whole time. /good writing.] I never said that. Just figured you'd want to be out in the field with something that packed a little more punch.

[She considers something.] How well do you think tasers work on giant spiders?

[knowledge: nature? earth/life science?? it would just be 10 for either, so w/e.] I'm not sure. Spiders can conduct electricity through their webs to attract prey, though. Why, do you have a bug problem?

There were some giant spiders on a mission. Just covering my bases in case there's more.

[awkward pause.] But man if they can conduct electricity through their webs and you used a taser on them....

That's not an experiment I'd like to be on the tasing end of.

yeah, me either. Webs are bad enough without adding electrocution to it. [She clicks her tongue.] Hell of a way to go.

Not quite. I've been helping Wynn with briefings, but I haven't been out in the field yet.
