Yo, I brought pizza and a baby. Figured you'd still be wiped so I brought the food to you. I take tips in letting me braid your hair.

[Myri glances to the door as Vi lets herself in, giving her sister a small smile and a nod.]

All of my favorite things. You have good timing. Shayla just woke up from her nap, so I'm sure she would love a little time with her best friend. As for me, I'm always happy to see you.

I have a sixth sense when it comes to napping babies. Or I might have been waiting outside for the past half hour until I heard her wake up, one of those things. [ maybe both! mostly she's just used to myri's routines tbh. she moves into the room with ease, setting lucia next to shayla and dropping a kiss on her neice's forehead before flopping down next to myri and trading the pizza for a pug pillow. ] Hello Sir Pug.

[Myri just shakes her head, laughing a little at Vi's response but she takes the pizza that she's offered. Her stomach rumbles as the smell reaches her. She was hungrier than she realized.]

I think I needed this more than I realized.

Pizza cures all ails, I've found. [ veggie pizza, fyi, it's piled with veggies and cheese. ] And since I never forget to eat, I figured it's my duty to make sure no one else forgets, too.

[witchwoman]

I usually remember... But it's alsmost always right before bed. [She gives a sheepish shrug of her shoulders.]

How are you?

[ she shrugs back as lucia tips over directly into shayla like hello this is your leg it's a very nice leg i'm going to use it as a pillow right now. ] I almost murdered three of my friends and myself and watched the one person I was meant to protect die, but I mean, other than that I'm actually surprisingly okay. [ she still has lucia so it's not even very sarcastic. ]

You can't blame yourself for any of that, Vi. Not any more than I can blame myself for not being able to save Jade. [Which she did. For quite some time, but she's since then learned to accept that some things are just out of their control.]

Jade was already gone, Myri, her soul was too far gone and fragile and you can't save aasimars and tieflings, we don't get to be rezzed. [ an apples to oranges comparison in vi's eyes because myri couldn't have done anything and after so many encounters with the mind master they should have fucking known better than to try to fight her. ]

[witchwoman]

Can't bring them back from beyond death, but they can certainly be healed as well as any other. [But she knows better now than to try too hard to argue with Vi about matters like this. They're both harder on themselves than anyone else.]

I'm sure no one blames you for what happened. That terrible woman is the only one to blame for any of this.

I blame me for what happened, which is the problem since blame and guilt is what let the Nightmare Lord fuck me over for so long. [ she knows herself well enough to know that self-blame is one of her biggest issues. ]

[witchwoman]

Which is precisely why it's my job to remind you that it isn't your fault, lest you get swallowed up by that blame and guilt without hearing the truth of the matter.

[ her shoulders heave with a deep sigh, picking at a fuzzy on the bedspread. ] And I'm incomprehensibly lucky to have you around for that.

[ it seems like her support systems are ever dwindling. luthir and finnick and lazarus slipping away, but myri remains, steadfast. ]

You're like a lighthouse.

[Myri reaches over, and threads her fingers with Vi's giving her hand a small squeeze.]

I'll always be here to help you find your way back home.

I know. I always feel safer when I know you're nearby.

I'm not going anywhere. I mean, obviously I went somewhere, but up a floor and to the left isn't very far. [ yes, violet, because moving rooms is really important to the not literal "not going anywhere". ]

[witchwoman]

You seem more at home in your new room.

[graveflowers]

It still smells like Luthir. It might be all in my head, but. [ her shoulders lift in an unhappy shrug, looking down at her fingers. ] His things are still in the closet, I wake up and get to see proof he existed.

[witchwoman]

I'm glad you can have that to hold onto. Whatever you need to feel closer to him, even now.

It's dumb, but memories fade and stuff doesn't. I want something to hold on to centuries from now.

[witchwoman]

It's not dumb. Far from it. It's important that both you and Lucia have that.

It does make me wish he had more stuff.

He didn't seem the type to hold on to much. More that he surrounded himself with what was important.
