I'm not going anywhere. I mean, obviously I went somewhere, but up a floor and to the left isn't very far. [ yes, violet, because moving rooms is really important to the not literal "not going anywhere". ]

You seem more at home in your new room.

It still smells like Luthir. It might be all in my head, but. [ her shoulders lift in an unhappy shrug, looking down at her fingers. ] His things are still in the closet, I wake up and get to see proof he existed.

I'm glad you can have that to hold onto. Whatever you need to feel closer to him, even now.

It's dumb, but memories fade and stuff doesn't. I want something to hold on to centuries from now.

It's not dumb. Far from it. It's important that both you and Lucia have that.

It does make me wish he had more stuff.

He didn't seem the type to hold on to much. More that he surrounded himself with what was important.

Have you thought of making something for Lucia? A gift of some of her father's things to give to her when she's older?

[This may be something that Myri is rolling around to possibly do for Shayla and might be running the idea by Vi to see if it seems like a good one. Maybe.]

I would, if I were any good at making things? I pretty much top out at floral arrangements.

I was thinking more of purchasing a small box, setting things aside just for her. They're too young to really appreciate it now, but in later years, it could be good to have something waiting, so that they know how loved they've been from the very beginning.

[Well, the use of we sort of gives away that she's not just thinking about this in terms of Lucia.]

Anything that you think she might like to hold onto later. An article of clothing. A book. Even some of his weapons, if you have them. Things to pass on to her.

Couldn't I just give her his whole room then?

[witchwoman]

Well- you could, but then you'd have to find somewhere else to stay.

Okay, that's a valid point. Eff that.

Perhaps we could work on something together. [family crafts or something.]

Yeah, yeah I would like that. I think if we need like actual chests, Dovan would probably be happy to make them.

Oh, that would be lovely. He's such a wonderful man.

He is. I'm still sad about the stupid robot thingy ruining Lucia's first cradle, but the new crib he built her is gorgeous.

I never thought to ask him. Buffy and I found one for Shayla online somewhere. [Not nearly as cool of a story tbh.]
