[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.

[Max spends most of his time in the recreational room, taking down those noobs and throwing tantrum at them. He can be found there most likely between brunch and afternoon tea.

Before that, he can be found training his combat skill in the training area or outside the castle jogging, running, doing push-ups, randomly swinging his hammer.

At night, he frequents the castle bar to enjoy a quick drink before sleep or still in recreational room, slaying down those dragons, or at the castle's pool, enjoying cold night swimming.

And once a week, just before an hour or two before sunset, you can find him at the outskirt of the castle's forest, sitting alone with a large bottle of drink in his hand. If you find him in this situation, you can definitely hear him talking as if he's having a conversation with somebody, even though there's no one in sight except for him. You can make a listen check to know what he is saying or you can just ask him directly. Your choice.]

[ Damon went into town, it was just as boring out as it was in the castle with the exception that he fed. He's coming in through the back, having taken a walk just because - he likes the sun, okay? With a listen of 16, he can at least hear someone muttering to themselves - no, that's not muttering, that's talking. And seeing as it doesn't sound like he's talking to nobody, he'll naturally turn in that direction - and see Max talking to nobody. Concentrating, he listens specifically for whatever Max is saying (vampire hearing, wut, 20 modified, not nat, but still) - what the hell are you saying, crazy eyes? ]

[Max doesn't realize that there's someone nearby, since he is busy telling his story to the mysterious listener. His voice sounds agitated but he is smiling at the same time.] And then he said, "Pay attention." As if I wasn't already. What a jackass. I'm gonna shove my fist into his ass the next time he acts cocky in front of me. [He sighs loudly then he takes a large swig of his drink.] This place sucks. And it's all you guys' fault, leaving me alone in this place, and you expect me to avenge you guys, you guys suck too.

[ Fisting. Yeesh. Well, he's right about that. He saunters up, not bothering move silently. ] Please tell me you know who's responsible for transplanting me. [ So he can do them harm. ]

[Max immediately turns his sight toward the newly arrived guy. Giving him a cold glare.] Do I know you? And how the hell I'm supposed to know that? [It's not like his talk to the ghosts session is private. But when you come out of nowhere and ask random question without warning, that's the kind of reaction you normally get.]

Nobody knows me. Even the people that should. [ So, what makes you think you're so special. ] In my defense you sounded like you do. [ But, you also sound crazy. ] Leaving you alone in this place. Sounds like you were dropped off here without your consent. Join the club. [ Sue him for getting the wrong idea. ] Damon Salvatore. [ charisma 9, let's say he's probably not meant to endear himself to everyone ]

[Totally the wrong idea.] Maxwell Briggard. Half-orc but native to this world. Not a stranded guy. My dad was the one who was dropped off without consent. And by leaving, I mean passing on to the other side of river Styx. [He corrects him casually. With his otherworldy features, it's normal for people to be mistaken.] Here, meet my friends and join the ranting club. [He accurately throws a bottle of beer toward him.(dex 12)]

[ Woah, this - didn't go badly. Weird. But, he's not looking a gift horse in the mouth. As for passing on the other side to the river Styx, wisdom 9, he has ... no idea if this means he died or his dad died, or anything, but he won't say that. This guy is casual and friendly. Dex 14, Damon catches the bottle of beer, looking ahead of Maxwell's ... - well, whoever he's talking to. ] Nobody told me there were clubs to join. I just feel behind now. [ Don't mind him, he just... takes a seat on the ground, elementary school style, taking a swig of beer. ]

Yeah, you can always make your own club. And you're free to join my club. [Max chuckles a bit before taking another swig, then he passes a small thin metal box to Damon. The box seems to be a picture frame, the kind that is resistant to shock, heat and any other hazard. Inside, it holds a group photo of several men that looks like to be in some kind of militaristic group.] They're the one I was talking to. If you haven't got it yet, they're all dead except the third guy from the left. [Which is Max himself.] I guess you can say I was praying, but I'm not a religious man, so let's stick with just having a chat with invisible listeners. [And he takes a big gulp.] Anything you want to share with the guys? [He smiles a lot between the words but you can see sadness in his face.]

[ sorry maxwell the rec room is OCCUPADO when you come in today, because kat spreads out like an amorphous amoeba made of potato chip bags, an open laptop, headphones, clothes, books, her cat, and herself, taking up the entire couch as she swears up a storm into her headset. ] For FUCK'S SAKE Rodriguez, you got me vaped! What the hell were you thinking?! I'd find better teammates in a drow house.

[Yeah, this is his territory, he is not going to back out just because someone's already in there. And he has been standing behind, stealing her potato chips and watching how she got vaped. Hearing her racist comment, he snorts out a laugh while crunching some potato chips.] Yeah Rodriguez, what the hell were you thinking!? How can you be that stupid!? Learn how to play, pal! [He shouts into her microphone. No boundaries? Yeah, sorry.]

[ she starts a bit, turning to double take at him, and then at her chips IN HIS MOUTH ] Hey, who the hell are you?

Maxwell Briggard. Squire of Harrison, the druid. Pleasure... [And more of her chips go into his mouth.] to meet you. [Crunch! Crunch!] You should pay attention to your games. [He points at the screen of her laptop while he keeps plundering her ration.]

[ she reaches out to smack his hand away (atk 22, dmg... 6 if that hits wow gurl) ] And you should get your own grub!

[Yeah, it hits and you manage to halve his hit point. Another smack like that and Kat needs to carry the 240 lbs. guy to the Dragon's Light wing.] Gah! [He pulls his hand away.] Cheap-ass. [Well, he can't complain much, he also doesn't like someone else stealing his potato chips.] Who are you anyway? Never seen you in this place before, and I thought I lived in this place.

Kat Samcelot, and this is my captain's chair, amigo. You must be new. I've just been on a super dangerous mission for the last two years that keeps me bopping out of this place for months at a time.

[beatemup]

[He doesn't really believe she was assigned to a super dangerous mission but with that herculean smack, she might be.] No can do, amigo. That chair's reserved only for the best of the best, the king of the arcade. Therefore, it belongs to me. [Said the self-proclaimed best.]

[ She notices his training routine pretty early on when it interrupts her on her way back into the castle on day as he runs straight past the entrance. It takes her a few days to notice that it's a routine, and after that, she grabs a piece of lawn furniture and hauls it out back into the gardens to read, wearing big sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat to guard herself from getting too much sun.

Look, it's exhausting enough to watch, ok? It's not like she was going to join. But this school has no gymnastics lacrosse team, so this is a last resort. Lydia is fond of watching athletic types exhaust themselves. ]

[Max is not wearing any shirt if that helps with the visualitation. Too bad, he is a half-orc who has hairy and rough skin like a bull rather than smooth and tender skin. His body is toned, tanned and has lots of war scars on it though if that's your thing.

He runs a couple of laps before noticing Miss Congeniality there, sunbathing. Being a nice guy as he is, he approaches her to say a quick hello.] It's sunny out here and you're just reading a book? No wonder you are skinny and pale like a puppet.

One: I'm not pale, I'm fair-skinned. Two: you should try it some time, you might learn a thing or two. [ She pulls her sunglasses off just so that he can see how exasperated that evaluation makes her, closing the book and keeping her fingers between the pages to hold her place. ] You smell like a barn.

Sorry, Sherlock, I do read books. [Gaming magazines are considered as books, no? But he does read novels too, once or twice in a lifetime while.] And it's the smell of a healthy body, you don't get awesome body like this without sweating a drop or two. [And he flexes his body in front of her.]

Wow. [ She arches her eyebrows in a tacit no thank you and pulls her book up a little higher to act as a barrier between her eyes and all that. ] I think I’ll survive.

[beatemup]

You might want to jog at least once in a while, don't want to get left behind when the zombies chase you. [He raises his hand upward and stretches his body.] What are you reading anyway? [He leans down, trying to read the book cover.]

[ She's going to be That Book Reader who simply holds up the cover to give him a look at it in answer to his question. Mathematics of Classical and Quantum Physics is stamped in typeface on the cover of what appears to be a very heavy college textbook. ]

I do thirty minutes of cardio kickboxing before yoga in the morning. [ She peers reluctantly over the top of her book at him. ] And if that doesn't help, I'll trip you so the zombies eat you first.

[He is definitely never going to read that book even if she pays him to do so.] Yeah, sure, Yoga will definitely help you outrunning the zombies. And that'll also help you trip someone who is twice larger than you. Yeah, why not?
