[Jaime can be found more often than ever in the Old Man Club bar, drinking ale and generally being down about the whole situation. He likes Thomas, and though he thinks Dimitris would be a fool to kill him, he can't help but worry that Dimitris might just do it anyway. And he's worried, though he doesn't want to admit it.

At other times, he can be found honing his skills with either a crossbow or a sword in the training room, hacking apart dummies or taking careful aim.

He also enjoys spending time with the horses, either grooming them or riding them. It makes him think of the home he barely remembers. He finds it soothing.]

[ Adi's been here long enough to have a healthy appreciation for the cars on-hand at the castle, but it's the horses he ends up spending a bit more time with. They're familiar. He can adapt to most things, sure, but sometimes it's nice not to have to.

He's wasting time at the stables when he spots someone grooming one of the horses. He briefly considers leaving him to it, but after a considering pause: ]

Are any of them yours?

[ No idea how the stables work here, frankly, so it's not just an idle question. Same as the garage? Horse rentals?? ]

Not technically, but I may play favorites. [He pats the neck of the horse he's brushing down. Idk anything about horses, but this is a pretty one.] This is Lionheart. He's a spirited stallion, and my favored mount.

[ Adi doesn't approach, just leans against the wall a yard or so off. The phrasing stands out a bit— or it does in contrast to what he's been hearing all day, in any case. ]

Even over the Mercedes in the garage?

[ Are you local, this is very elaborate (not) code. ]

not in that way unfortunately though wow I probably was thinking it

[I’m not even bothering rolling a knowledge check for that there is no way Jaime has any clue what a Mercedes is.]

The— [ Repetition probably won't help, here. ] It's a type of car. A good one, in point of fact.

[ Or an expensive one, same thing. ] You've never heard of it?

I don't pay much attention to cars. They all seem the same to me.

[ while jaime is destroying dummies, abigail will just be creeper stalking him by another dummy. they're fairly big though and abigail is tiny so she has quite a bit of cover as she practices slashing with her knife.

not stabbing though, she knows how to do that.

but stiles said something about swords at the party and now here is an example of a sword in action. it's very strange to her, swords are so... archaic. ]

[She's lucky he's damn good at this. He whirls, ready to strike down her dummy, then stops short, sword a little too close to her for comfort.] Careful, girl. What are you doing here?

[ she barely flinches. (will save 18) ]

Practicing. [ she holds up her knife. ] Do you need to use all the dummies?

I so rarely find myself in combat against simply one combatant. I find it best to be prepared.

[brokenteacup]

But don't you find yourself in combat with other teammates? [ a beat. ] Or people with guns?

[twinfucker]

Certainly. But it's far easier to adjust your combat styling to better odds, and I have armor to protect against guns.

[ironsides]

[ dovan is holding down the old man table, since no one else is present, so he'll wave jaime over once he gets his mug. ] Lannister! Over here!

[twinfucker]

[Jaime smiles and carries over his mug of ale, sliding into a seat.] Ser Ironsides. I see you've saved a place for me. Thoughtful of you.

[ironsides]

Fer some reason no one feels like comin' out of late. Ye ask me, what happened with Luthir only makes the bar more necessary.

[twinfucker]

Can't argue with you there. They have heard of finding solace in the bottom of a bottle, have they not?

[ironsides]

Maybe they're not looking for solace just yet.

[twinfucker]

Guess we get a head start, then. Lucky us.

[trebond]

I don't think I've ever seen you look quite so dour before.

[ Alanna has gotten herself a pint and found her way to the usual Old Man Club table, surprised to see Jaime sitting there. ]

[twinfucker]

[JAIME IS MORE OF AN OLD MAN THAN YOU, ALANNA, WHY ARE YOU SURPRISED.

But when he sees her, the dour expression fades away, replaced by his usual smug asshole face. Not cause he's so happy to see her. He's just... faking it (bluff 17).]

I didn't have your lovely face and sparkling wit to light up my day.

[trebond]

Ask and ye shall receive. I'm here to relieve ye of your awful moping.

[ her sense motive is kind of shit mod-wise, but she's still better than that bluff (21). ]

You're miserable—and I don't just mean your company.

[twinfucker]

[The grin falls away and he covers it with a swig from his mug of ale.]

Everyone here's miserable. Haven't you noticed? We're losing this war.

[trebond]

Bit difficult to lose a war that's hardly begun. If this is about New York, I'd rather call that a declaration.

So optimistic. Not a particularly surprising outlook from you. How many wars have you fought in, again?
