[As usual, Spike can often be found punching stuff. He's commandeered a training room by swearing at anyone else who comes in until they go away, dropped his jacket on a chair, plugged his phone into the speaker system, and now he's beating up a punching bag while listening to some music he's recently downloaded.

He wants to be alone, but don't let that stop you from bugging him.]

[ GOOD LUCK GETTING ALONE TIME IN A PUBLIC AREA, SPIKE. also, this has become francesca's usual haunt, as well. guess everyone's got 'preparing for andres' on the forefront of their mind.

as she makes her way into his closed off section, she picks up on the music instantly (pop culture 17), and that's really the only reason she stops to bug him, nodding his way when she catches his eye. she wants to talk, just for a second, probably. ]

[He stops the bag from swinging and heads over to her, wiping his forehead with an arm. Idek if vampires sweat but it's a habitual gesture.]

Interesting choice in music. [ she raises an eyebrow toward whatever way it's playing from ] Did something change during your last mission in New York?

[He raises his eyebrow right back at her.] Well, I heard her sing. She's got talent. Pity it comes with bonus mind control.

... Yes, pity. [ that's possibly the strangest thing she's heard all day ] Was she instrumental in the mass suicide in the Hudson, then, as well?

[He's feeling so judged right now.] Hard to say. I'd wager it's more Keijen's doing. And she doesn't really have a choice in helping them. Not with that god sitting in her brain.

So, the mind control you were referring to was being used on her? I'm assuming it's the Spider King holding her leash, then.

She didn't specify. But sounds like a good guess.

[Yeah, Des rolled a 19 for that pop culture check and and a twenty total for his listen, so he hears that shit coming a mile away and comes running.

What? [Spike stops punching the bag for a moment and turns back to Des.] What're you on about?

[He points at the speakers.]

Since when are you on Team Nadia?

[bigbad]

Team Nadia? [He looks confused, then shakes his head.] I just like her music, all right? Nothing wrong with that.

Except for the mind control parts. That girl's in deep. [And spoilers Des was the second to the USS Save Nadia campaign to Myri's captain, so surprise. No judgment here. Just surprise. YOU WERE REALLY MAD ABOUT BEING THROWN OFF THAT BALCONY OKAY.]

[SPIKE GETS MAD ABOUT A LOT OF THINGS.]

He sighs and shakes his head.] So this was what Vi could have had going for her?

Again. Though I still don't see how that would kill me. Not like I need to bloody breathe.

[Seriously someone needs to sit him down and tell him about lesser known vampire weaknesses.]

Sounds like it. But she's in it a lot deeper. Think your unicorn's mojo is up to the task?

[ her knowledge (pop culture) check of 16 is just enough to recognize the album as she walks in. ]

[ She stops mid-snark when she notices who's listening to it. ]

[Spike had stopped the punching when he heard Buffy's voice, looking kind of amused at her snark.]

Oh, come on, I don't make of Rafael's poncy crooning. [Yes, Spike, you do. He saunters over to her.] And she's not evil. Just misguided.

Uhh ... Spike? She threw you off a balcony. That was her big misguided contribution to us trying to save her. Pretty sure she's crossed those tracks.

[bigbad]

She's Vi if we hadn't gotten her head cleared out a little faster. [Not that Vi thinks it was worth the cost. Spike's expression falls a little. He nods over at the speakers to cover it.]

Besides. It's not like I paid for it.

Yeah, and currently her head is housing a crazy evil god! [ omg are you from the moon. ] So why are you listening to what comes out of it?

[bigbad]

This is pre-crazy god. Should be free of all mind control. [He rolls his eyes.] It's good music, all right?

Yeah, and Keijen has great cheekbone structure, too bad it's ruined by being evil and trying to murder us. [ it's the principle!! ]
