Also, following the promotion and squiring parties at the beginning of the month, Wynn will be taking any willing Knights back to Andres Isle to further reconstruction efforts there.   There's plenty to be done - and an election to gear up for, to find out who will rule Andres Isle!

[ zero got his work done relatively quickly on andres, because that's how he rolls, and with that, returned to the castle for the majority of october to work on his newest project.

namely, studying and potentially restoring life to the artificial intelligence known as wheatley that the germany team brought back on their mission.

it's not going great.

those who walk in on him in the hoard labs might see him leaning over the little sphere with tools clenched between his teeth, peering through a magnifying lens that's rigged up and messing with wiring that occasionally sparks and sputters, or sets his bathrobe on fire.

once in a great while, some life seems to come into the robot's single eye, which rolls around, but then it utters phrases like:

If you have 3 quarters, 4 dimes, and 4 pennies, you have $3.19. before shutting off again.

[New knighthood means Willow can spend all the time she wants in the labs. She's pretty excited about it. Which is why she's just poking around when she finds Zero and his project. At first, she just stops and watches, chewing at her bottom lip a little. Then the thing speaks and her eyes widen a little.]

What is it?

[She asks suddenly, not realizing that he might now know she's been hanging around. Whoops.]

From what I can tell, it's an Intelligence Dampening Sphere.

... Mostly, because it says that, right here on the label.

So it makes people dumber? Who would want that?

Now had it said you need to ask for a raise because that won't even buy you a pint at the local dive bar, I'd have been impressed.

[With a skip in her step, Kenzi approaches the workbench, waving a hand in front of the huge mechanical eye as if she's testing to see if it's blind or not before leaning on the edge, head canting to one side as she casts a look in Zero's direction.]

Wat-cha doing? [That right there is the sing-song tone of somebody who is probably going to drive you insane, Zero.]

Dude! [Get outta town.] Killer robot?! [Grin splitting her face.] That is awesome. Does it have a name?

Wheatley. Though what kind of dumbass name that is for a robot has got me beat.

Wheatley. [She's with Zero on that one.] That's a name for the lame sidekick who never gets laid. [She reaches over and wraps her knuckles against the robot.] It's probably not broken it's just on strike.

I can get it to run again, but the damn thing was designed to be a mess. Trying to fix what's designed to be broken ain't as easy as it sounds.

So what? Its two modes are useless or going postal?

Not useless. Its single use is to make anyone who listens to it dumber.

Think about turnin' something like that on an enemy.
