[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of the first half of the month. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.

Also, following the promotion and squiring parties at the beginning of the month, Wynn will be taking any willing Knights back to Andres Isle to further reconstruction efforts there.   There's plenty to be done - and an election to gear up for, to find out who will rule Andres Isle!

[A few days, and maybe a chat with Wynn, later, Sam shoots her a text.]

Thinking about hopping in a car and heading downtown. Will you be home in an hour or two?

[astrayed]

So spontaneous of you. I'll be there.

Great. I'll leave soon.

[Good thing Sam is used to long car rides, right? An hour is like...nothing.

Anyway, he shows up about 90 minutes later, parks his knight-borrowed car, and hits the buzzer for her uber nice apartment, since I'm pretty sure she didn't give him a key/make copies/whatever.]

[astrayed]

[ there's a response from the intercom, her voice that familiar velvet trouble even as she simply says: ] Coming~

[ there's no more than twenty seconds before the doors open, which is definitely not an elevator's ride away. such a cheater. saying she looks unnecessarily glam seems redundant and yet i'm going to abuse every chance to link hot jessica alba outfits as i can in the days ahead. you've been warned. ] Going my way, handsome?

[familybusiness]

[That dress, though. Seriously, going to kill him.]

You could have just buzzed me in, you know.

[Not that he minds a personal welcome. But, yeah. Cheater.

He steps through the door so that she can let it close behind him before he lifts the item in his hand, which happens to be a wine bottle that he...probably stole from the castle bar w/e, and shakes it gently.]

I hope you like red.

[Or that she even has glasses in her recently purchased apartment. Otherwise this could be ratchet.]

[astrayed]

[ that draws an easy laugh out of her, and she snatches it playfully out of his hand, pleased. ] There's a joke there somewhere.

[familybusiness]

That's what I'm here for. Providing the entertainment.

[At his expense is more likely than otherwise, though, lbr.]

[astrayed]

One of many uses I can think of for you. [ she swings the bottle between two fingers, considering him, as she teases: ] Staying in tonight, are we?

[familybusiness]

Oh, is that what I am now? Something for you to play with?

[He's...90% joking, and really doesn't seem to mind, anyway.]

I thought it'd be nice. Quiet. Well, to a point, anyway.

[/cough]

[astrayed]

Well, when you put it like that ...

[ she backs up over the threshold ] Come on in.

[familybusiness]

Well, that was an easy sell.

[He says amused as he follows after her, glancing around once he's inside, glad to be out of what is now definitely a late and windy fall.]

[astrayed]

Did you want me to play hard to get?

[ she walks ahead of him, all swaying hips, without looking back ] Don't worry. I'll make you work for it later.

[familybusiness]

I expected nothing less.

[He's just trying to avoid clubbing again. It was fun, yes, but it's a miracle he didn't humiliate himself. He knows that full well. Let's not tempt fate.

It's possible that he looks like a giant puppy following obediently after her. Just saying.]

[astrayed]

Mmm. [ into the elevator she goes, spinning around to lean against the back wall, hands gripping the bar there, on either side of her. She rakes a scandalous gaze over him as he follows her in, and then raises her eyebrows at the panel, implying he should get the button.

good puppy. ]

[familybusiness]

[So demanding.

He turns and finds the number 32, pressing it with his thumb before he turns back around and crosses the elevator space in a single step, pausing right in front of her.

He can do that okay. He's tall.]

Didn't feel like cheating your way back up, huh?

[astrayed]

Cheating's such a strong word.

[ she fixes him with a cheeky grin as he steps nearer. ]

Maybe I just wanted to make sure you could keep up.

[familybusiness]

What, I didn't manage to prove that already?

[His hands move to rest on the bar on either side of her. Tall as she may be, he still has an advantage when it comes to height, and he looks down at her, eyebrows raised.]

[astrayed]

[ she tilts her chin up in response, pretending to consider ] It was an impressive opening argument, I'll give you that.

[familybusiness]

[He leans forward, hand reaching into her hair as his lips drag across her jaw to her ear.]

Then I hope you're prepared for my killer cross-examination.

[Hahahahahahaha I can't even keep a straight face writing this Sam what is wrong with you.]

[astrayed]

[ she tries to restrain herself for all of .2 seconds, before she bursts out laughing. her hand that's not holding the bottle comes up to grip his lapel, as she pulls him towards her, her teasing tone highly entertained as she laughs: ] Oh, you better believe it.

[familybusiness]

[That makes him start to laugh too, because even he couldn't take that shit seriously.

He's still grinning widely as he leans in to kiss her, and he doesn't seem to hear the elevator ding the moment after he does so.

[astrayed]

[ she grins around the kiss, but it doesn't lessen her enthusiasm, or her grip on him, which she finally uses to shoves him backwards out into the hall. she laughs again and swings out after him, waving a hand at the door, at which point he hears it click open.

keys are for squares. ] After you, Atticus.

[familybusiness]

[He chuckles as he takes those few backward steps out into the hall, heading in the direction of the door, which he opens the rest of the way so that they can both slide into the apartment.

After crossing the threshold, he heads to the kitchen, looking for a couple of glasses.]

So how have you been keeping busy?

[astrayed]

Oh, you know. Spreading the word of my unholy patriarch. Sacrificing babies. Maybe a goat or two. [ so very blithely. and while he's looking through empty cabinets, she somehow produces two glasses out of nowhere and sets them on the bar counter, the clinking sound alerting him. ]

[familybusiness]

Too much sarcasm and I'll start to believe you.

[He turns around at the sound, giving her a look and shaking his head.]

Convenient. Wanna summon me a wine key so I don't have to open it with my teeth?
