[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions: Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask! Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. Well, no one's called me on it, so I'm going to keep assuming that it's nothing.

[here it is, an unsuspecting hole in the wall. alex's speciality. he comes in and the chef at the sushi counter seems to recognize him and greet him and then they chat in japanese for a second. yep.]

[ well lila understands most of it, she's gotten pretty good at conversation, even if she can't... read or write it very well.

so she says hi before she peruses the menu. ]

[it's just small talk. notably he does not mention that it's his birthday. but he does say they just went to the aquarium. then, at lila] The California roll is really good. I'm probably going to get unagi. [oh and they're sitting at the bar. that's a thing.]

Isn't that what you always get? [ she shifts to kneel on her seat because she doesn't care about being ladylike with alex lmao. ]

Yeah, I guess so. I like to stick with what I like.

Never going to be adventurous?

Not about food. I'm fuckin' picky, you know that.

I know. [ ur missing out. that in mind, ] I'll have the California roll. And a cucumber roll and um, uni. And hamachi. [ she looks up from the menu, like that sounds right, right? did i do good? i did good. ]

[ambitionist]

[the sushi chef guy will be like "yes very good!" to let her know she did good ok.] Hm ... let me get a tiger roll, too. And sake. I think we'll be good, then.

[ PREENS PROUDLY. she loves praise. ] Did you want to get cake while we're out, too?

[ambitionist]

Hm ... maybe. Guess it wouldn't be right without cake.

[bittersweeter]

[ yesssss cake. ] So. [ she leans toward him a little bit. ] Good birthday so far?

[ambitionist]

Better than I was anticipating.

Which is only good if you weren't anticipating nothing.

Shh, you're gonna ruin it.

Impossible. [ gonna kiss him before she settles back in her seat though. ] Happy birthday, solnyshko.

[ idly: ] I've gotten better at Japanese, haven't I? Still can't write for shit, but I can speak it at least.

Yeah, you do pretty good.

[ if nothing else in her life makes sense, she will always have the accomplishment of excelling at languages. at least she can do that right and she smiles a little, pulling a pen out of her pocket to doodle on a napkin. ]

[while they're waiting for the food, alex leans in to watch her doodle.] What're you drawing?

I dunno. [ a rose and a knife and a very preschool sailboat, a little cat. none of it is particularly masterful. ]
