[He'll feel embarrassed about it when he's sober, but for right now, he's just riding the high. He'll turn to plop down in his chair after that, as they call Thea up next.]

[ oh right, she forgot she had to do that. she heads up with no hesitation, though, channeling her wild youth. she's not as good as barry, but well, he had adorable jersey boys dance moves. regardless, thea kills the rap (perform: sing 16) and takes her due applause at the end, throwing her hands up with glee the way sandra bullock does after she knees benjamin bratt in the junk in miss congeniality. ]

[And Barry will be there to laugh and cheer her on because he is that kind of friend. He's totally grinning when she gets back, holding up his hand for a high five.]

[And there are probably more drinks. Because they have clearly not had enough yet.]

I was just going to go until one of us puked. We can go to the next one though, there's one down the street giving shots away.

Sure! Let's do it. Unless you want to go again?

No, nope, once was enough, I feel fulfilled with karaoke. [ she bounces up from the seat again, the tiniest bit of a wobble as she straightens up. ] Let's go!

[ TO THE NEXT BAR THEY GO. ]

[And they will keep on crawling and drinking until they land in a very festively decorated bar and are ... much drunker than they should be.

Especially Barry.

And right now he's making a face at himself before looking over at her]

I think I might be drunk.

[Finally, he gets it!]

[ and thea just grins, draping an arm... well, not around his shoulders because he has half a foot on her so she tries to do that and just sort of loops her arm around his. ]

[Barry doesn't mind and will just let her use his arm to keep her close and nods in agreement.]

Today has been a victory for speedsters and booze everywhere!

[He brings his hand down on the bar - not hard but hard enough.]

I think I need nachos. Do they make nachos here?

[There should definitely be more food in his diet right now if he is actually drunk.]

I think they make nachos at 7/11. [ but she snags a small menu from the bar to peruse. ] Um...

They have ham croquettes. And artisan crackers with romesco sauce. [ she glances around, realizing they're been misled and the twinkle lights and pine boughs and holly had disguised that they're in a super hipstery bar.

she thought the speakeasy style was cute! ]

[Barry goes to squint at the menu over her shoulder, before shaking his head.]

As long as they're edible, I think I can go for it right now.

It's all stuff my mom would serve for brunch.

[ but she leans over and orders ham croquettes for barry and the cheese and grapes for herself because she wants grapes. ]

[Mmmm ham croquettes. Not that he's had them before but when they show up he will immediately bite down on one and his eyes will widen in surprise.]

Oh my God, they're like ham filled mozzarella sticks.

[Excellent choice, Thea.]

[ she snickers, shaking her head. ]

Now you're going to be addicted, aren't you? I've created a drunk monster.

It may just be my drunk taste buds talking, but I'm pretty sure I could survive on these forever.

[No, he couldn't because it's not nearly enough calories, but he wishes he could, anyway.]

They are awesome.

[And there may be a little falsetto sing-sing-y voice to go with it.]

They're going to make a TLC show about your diet. It's gonna be horrifying. [ she rolls her eyes as she's looking at him and notices a garland of mistletoes hanging around the bar like fairy lights. ] Huh.

[ annnd that's it because she's distracted again. ]

You're a genius, how come grapes don't taste like wine?

[Are you ready for more science, Thea? CUZ YOU'RE GOING TO GET SOME.

And he will start to ramble about the process of fermentation and how grapes actually become wine and probably trip over some stuff because he is drunk but he's also smart so.

'kay. Sure. [ that was a lot of words. when he's done she points up. ] Science that.

[And his eyes wander up and he squints at it, before ... totally coming up with some science.]

Did you know mistletoe is actually a parasite? It lives in host trees and feeds off their nutrients.

[... So romantic.]

Ew. [ she makes a face, throwing a grape at him. ] I regret asking to be scienced. Science is bad.

[He laughs a bit as he tries to catch the grape in his mouth like an idiot and fails (dexterity 6). But then he'll come up with something better (knowledge mythology 13).]

Culturally speaking it's a sign of fertility, and it's said that you're supposed to kiss anyone you encounter under the mistletoe, and refusing a kiss is said to be bad luck.

[The actual tradition is a lot more misogynistic because the bad luck only befalls the woman who refuses, whereas in Barry's version, bad luck goes both ways, but Barry's drunk and more conscientious than that anyway.]

Bad luck? Just exactly what I need more of in my life. [ oh sarcasm, ever present. ]

Well, we can totally avoid that.

[This is probably the alcohol talking though he's probably thinking like ... a kiss on the cheek or something.]

And technically neither of us have offered, so no one has to refuse and get bad luck.
