[ annnnd there's constantine, newspapers spread over his kitchen table, symbols scrawled in what looks like blood that... probably comes from the dead chicken nearby, the brown wrapping of the package he'd carried laying cast aside. a little bronze statuette sits in the middle of the etchings, some kind of herbs sprinkled around it, more of them in a bowl in Constantine's hand.

he stares for a moment, halfway in the act of throwing more herbs at it, staring at her for a moment, and then back at the table, before offering her a grin ] ... Not what it looks like. Maybe.

[huntersdaughter]

[Jo takes a beat, surveying the scene and furrows her brow.]

It kinda looks like something demonic is going down. I mean, not of the voodoo hoodoo variety of things. [She shrugs.] But, I could be wrong.

[rituals]

Demonic? [ he looks positively affronted. ] ... Is it the chicken?

[huntersdaughter]

[She cants her head, glancing to the chicken.] The blood and the symbols.

[She returns her gaze to him.] If I'm being honest.

[rituals]

Nothing to do with demons, luv. [ he nods his head at the little statuette ] Just a little pagan worship, that's all.

[huntersdaughter]

Worship? Did you expect an answer from someone?

[rituals]

Divine inspiration.

[huntersdaughter]

Okay. [She may or may not believe him.]

Do you usually get that from all of that?

[rituals]

Depends on who feels like answering.

[huntersdaughter]

[She decides to fess up to her charade, mostly because she's curious.]

I -- I don't live downstairs and you probably don't want me in your place, but see now I've been in it and I see this stuff and I kinda want to know how you're expecting it to work.

[rituals]

[ lmao maybe he should be mad about it idk but instead he just looks her over with mild interest ] Maybe you want to tell me who you are first.

[huntersdaughter]

Jo. [She offers him that, wondering if it'll suffice.]

I followed you from the pizza shop. My order is going to be cold, but -- I can just make a new one. [She'll tell them to give her cold pizza to the homeless? Eh, whatever.] I've had a bit of experience with weird symbols, so I decided to take a risk. [She smiles. See how cute she is? (cha 16) Maybe?]

[ his eyes wander up and down her for a moment, because, well. she is pretty cute, ok. ] Not with symbols like these, I bet.

Some of it's arcane. Some of it's... Ancient Greek.

[huntersdaughter]

[She ignores the once over and focuses more on the symbols.]

And you just know about these things?

[rituals]

Doesn't come built in, no.

[huntersdaughter]

[This is definitely not the path she had planned on taking today. She could just excuse herself, but there's part of her that guesses if he was put off by her questions he would've shut her down. She glances back to him.]

Do people follow you around enough that you're just used to it or was I that bad at following you that you let me?

Most women don't just follow strange men into their apartments and ask casual questions about their dark rituals. Maybe you weren't the only one curious.

[huntersdaughter]

I'm not going to make any cliche statements. [The easy reply of "I'm not like most women." is dumb. She refuses to compare herself to other women - even in a cliche.]

Also, I did wait a few minutes to see if you weren't doing anything weird. I didn't realize Greek and the arcana mixed. [She takes a step closer, trying to actually look at it.]

[rituals]

I wouldn't touch that if I were you. [ he doesn't, however, move to interfere ] And there's a lot more crossover between the arcane and the divine than most people think.

Especially when the divine aren't entirely.

[huntersdaughter]

[Her hands lift up, offering him some sense that she's not planning on touching with her hands. She just looks at it (spot 14) with curiosity.]

I don't know many divine. I knew an angel. I know a few guys that don't seem to die, but they're just idiots. [Mostly.]

[ there's not much to make out on it, honestly - it's rather crudely cut. ] Knew an angel? Which one was that?

[huntersdaughter]

[She gives up her scrutiny and stands up to face him. He's better to look at anyway.]

Castiel. Not the most social guy. Angel. Whatever.

Castiel? [ the name is spoken with a bit of familiarity, actually ] Bugger stole my look.

[huntersdaughter]

[Jo smirks at the remark, not letting it actually sink in for a bit before she frowns in confusion.]
