[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from Dimitris' wedding. 

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. [ while abigail isn't a wolf in the woods, she's spent plenty of time hunting so she catches the tracks easily enough once cora gets them over the creek. (survival 27) crouching down next to the splotches of blood on a small sapling struggling to take root in the still cold ground, she grossly touches it, wiping it on her jeans. ]

Cora, over here. It's still warm. [ her voice is as quiet as can be while still carrying toward her companion and she gestures toward where the tracks lead as she straightens up. ] This way.

[impetere]

[Cora nods as she takes the lead, knowing an injured wolf is probably going to attack first, ask questions later. She doesn't even bother to cover her approach, eyes scanning the scene ahead of them until she spots his feet sticking out from behind the bushes (spot 24).]

Got him.

[And she'll make her way over, coming around the corner and holding up her hands in a "here to help" gesture.]

We're not the hunter or the other wolf. We're here to help.

[cramped]

[ Cora is not really making any attempts to disguise her approach; rather, she is deliberately announcing her presence all the while so Isaac is most likely able to hear her some time before he actually sees her, even despite the distraction of how much pain he's currently in (listen 30). But rolled over onto his side the way he is, Isaac is able to recognize her almost immediately after he lays eyes on her. As such, he remains still and doesn't lash out despite the unfamiliar presence of Abigail putting him somewhat on edge. ]

Cora--? What're.... What're you doing here? [ His voice is hoarse and he certainly sounds like he's rather worse for the wear. In fact there is blood clearly visible on the corner of his mouth as well as soaking through the front of his t-shirt, one only needs look to spot the obvious. ]

How many freakin' wolves do you know? [ liam, malia, derek, scott, jesus. (not... jesus, but.) cora has her own menagerie. since this guy, hello, obviously knows cora, abigail steps forward easily, pulling her first aid kit from her backpack as she approaches them both. ]

[impetere]

[Isaac obviously knows her, but Cora, unfortunately, does not know Isaac. She knows Scott had a pretty decent sized pack but still, the surprise is there for all of a second before it schools back into her professional knight face (will save 22).]

I was following the bodies.

[She approaches before Abigail does, looking over his injuries for a moment, before looking up at him again. He wanted answers, but she isn't sure she could give them.]

Look, you know me, but I don't know you. Coming through the Veil is different for everyone, and not everyone remembers the same thing. But we can go through all of this later - my friend, Abigail, is going to try and help patch you up. Is that okay?

[cramped]

[ Well Cora is in luck because Isaac is not really the most sentimental guy. While it's weird and somewhat disconcerting to think that she wouldn't recognize him from back home, at the same time it's not like it hurts his delicate feefees or anything like that. He's just happy that she and her friend seem pretty willing to help him. Although it makes him wonder what the hell they're doing out in the middle of the woods, having not yet put two and two together that they aren't just here by chance. ]

Okay. [ He confirms, attempting a smile at Abigail. Nat 20 on a diplomacy roll certainly helps to offset that negative modifier (19). So it even appears relatively charming rather than more of a pained grimace. ]

Hi. [ even a 24 will save cannot compete against a nat 20, and she offers a smile of her own in return, ducking her head as she reaches forward toward the blood blossoming on his shirt and just yanking it up. hello abs of steel. luckily, she's pretty straightforward when it comes to injuries so she gets right to work assessing the damage (treat injury 36) and bandaging it up so he will, you know, stop bleeding (treat injury 40, +3 hp). look, she's not a doctor, that would be astrid.

when she's done she pours some water on her hands and wipes them off on some spare gauze. ] At least you'll stop bleeding everywhere.

[impetere]

[And while Abigial does that, Cora will explain why she doesn't remember crap.]

The last thing I remember from before the Veil is being in the vault. The Veil messes with memories so anything after that? Never happened for me. But I do know some of what's happened there. You're in Scott's pack, right?

[Because she's not going to touch Derek's apparently terrible run as alpha.]

[cramped]

Thanks. [ He directs it toward Abigail in particular. ]

[ To Cora: ]

Yeah, uh, Scott and his mom -- they kinda took me in when I had nowhere else to go. The whole vault thing was a couple years ago, actually. [ Isaac doesn't like thinking about that particular period in time because it inevitably brings Boyd and Erica to mind. ]

[ a couple years is just shy of how long they've both been here so abigail looks at cora curiously as she reaches down to put a hand out for isaac. up you get, son. ]

Thank was kind of them.

[impetere]

[Yep, Boyd and Erica is one of the things Cora conveniently forgot, thanks Veil. But she knows about their existence and then their lack thereof thanks to Scott. She knows a lot of things thanks to Scott, filling in the blanks of things Stiles already told her and then some. Isaac's name, however, wasn't on that list, so she's just going to move to his other side to help him up. Maybe if she can get him to Scott, he can fill in some more blanks.]

Scott's here. Not in Sacramento, but with the head of our organization in London. After we sort out things here, we can take you to him.

[She assumes that he would want to be with his alpha. That's what she would want to do.]

What's your name?

[cramped]

[ Isaac accepts her hand as it's offered, pulling himself up into a standing position. He isn't able to hide his wince (will save 9) as the movement painfully jostles his freshly-bandaged wound but he's ultimately able to recover, shrugging it off (fortitude save 23) as he directs his answer back at Cora. ]

Isaac Lahey.

[ He answers with a bit of a frown, while brushing a couple of dead leaves from his mop of curly hair. Then his gaze flickers over to Abigail. ]

Who are you?

[theminotaur]

Abigail Hobbs. [ she stretches up to pluck a tiny twig from his hair. ] Token human.

And kind of curious how that happened. [ she gestures to the wound she just bandaged, the blood still all over his shirt. ]

[impetere]

Me too.

[They need to find out what Gus is heading towards.]

We know there was a werewolf and a human, but not much more than that.

[cramped]

Not just any human. The locals call her La Cazadora. The huntress. Toulouse said she's had it out for him for years. That if she decides she wants you dead it's only a matter of time.

[theminotaur]

We'll see about that. [ abigail sweeps her hair up into a ponytail, revealing the long scar across the left side of her throat, in a seemingly unconcerned gesture. ] Let's go. Stay with me.

[ because she knows cora will jump right into the fray so someone will have to watch isaac's back. ]

[impetere]

[Crazy huners. Great. She probably shouldn't go putting herself on another hunter's radar. She's gonna do it anyway.]

We can follow Gus' scent from here and hope he hasn't meet up with them and gotten into trouble.

[Not that Gus can't handle or heal himself, but they should at least get there to back him up (survival 26).]

Toulouse the other werewolf?

[cramped]

Yeah. [ Isaac nods in affirmation. ] I can't say I know him that well but he seems like a pretty okay guy. [ Just one that unfortunately attracted the attention of La Cazadora in his younger years. ] He was helping me out. Gave me a place to stay and food to eat. Told me to run when she came but I wasn't gonna just leave him to get killed like that.

[theminotaur]

That was nice of you. [ hahaha it's funny how that doesn't 100% sound like a compliment as they follow after cora. ]

[impetere]

Hopefully we won't have to either.

[And there is a brief, but slightly fond look at her best friend because she knows how Abigail feels about these things but she appreciates Isaac's loyalty and will now lead them right to Gus.]

[cramped]

[ 'Nice' doesn't have anything to do with it as far as Isaac is concerned. There was a debt waiting to be repaid. Of course, he ended up biting off more than he could chew in the end but. For now at least he's managed to avoid choking. ]

[druidisms]

[ eventually they happen upon the hunter and gus engaged in battle while toulouse is slumped against a tree and bleeding profusely, trying to stay out of the way of the fight.

gus looks... like he's seen better days, also bleeding, but between her fight with isaac and toulouse and now the onslaught from gus, the hunter isn't looking too hot either. it's definitely quite a scene to stumble on to.

a lightning bolt cracks from the sky, directly toward the hunter, but she darts out of the way just in time to escape being struck by it (ref save nat 20). gus curses, irritated that she's not dead and darts to the side to snatch up the quarterstaff she'd freaking kicked out of his grip. EVERYTHING SUCKS RN. ]

[ oh boy this doesn't look good. stepping away from isaac, abigail pulls the handaxes from her hips and just... hurls them at the woman trying to beat gus senseless. (atk nat 20, 28 total & atk nat 20, 23 total; dmg 18 & 21) #tinybadass

she runs forward, drawing her knives and swipes at her with one of them. (atk 27, crit on 17; dmg 18 + 1 bleed dmg for every round until she is healed)

the huntress levels her gun at abigail, but considering she was just literally axed, the shot goes wide (atk 14) and she slashes at gus' moving form with more success (atk 25, dmg 10), leaving a gash in his side. ]

[cramped]

[ 19 (29 total to hit) for crit on a lethal unarmed strike. Which means Isaac is able to take advantage of the huntress' preoccupation with Gus to hopefully land a solid hit (dmg 11) with his claws. ]

[impetere]

[Since everybody seems to be ready to go fight the huntress, Cora's going to go to the heavily injured werewolf by the tree. Her eyes flash briefly to show that she's friend not foe, before looking over his injuries and seeing that it's more than her potions will heal him.]

You need to shift. You'll heal.

[He huffs before shaking his head. "I won't be able to control it. There are too many humans."]

The humans will be fine. You won't. And if you go too far, I'll stop you. But all you really have to do is aim for her.

[He grits his teeth again for a moment before his eyes start to glow, his body shifting into the large hybrid wolf form (control shape 16). The minute the wolf's eyes land on the huntress, however, rage floods him (will save 11) and he pushes up to charge at her.

Cora turns and shouts after him.]
