[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. And when did you come through the Veil?

December 10th. But! As far as I know it was still September so I either skipped a couple months ooooor just forgot them.

What kind of world was it that you came from?

[ she shrugs. ] I dunno, like this one, minus all the magic stuff. We only had werewolves and vampires and witches. No elves or anything, only in books.

So. How'd you wind up here?

Here here? I knocked over a blood bank and Malina gave me the Uncle Ben speech from Spider-Man. Here in the world? I was walking to the bathroom and I walked into the London Zoo's penguin enclosure instead.

Been on any missions yet?

No. [ she frowns. ] Not yet. Which leaves me plenty of time to finish school.

At least there's that. There's programs for that online, you know.

I know, but I'm from Virginia, my history isn't exactly up to par with fancy English education.

They've gotta have tutors around here.

[ her shoulders lift in an unenthused shrug. ] Yeah. Sure you don't want any coffee?

Do you have some that's hot?

I can in... about two minutes. How do you take it?

[ she darts off and returns like two and a half minutes later with a mug of coffee that says "DON'T WORRY BE YONCE". ]

Can't sleep?

I barely remember the meaning of the word. [ he takes it gratefully, reading the message with the slight frown of a man who isn't into cutesy sayings ] Thank you.
