WHEN || June 12th [forward dated - changing the date from last log being in 2016 to being in 2017 surprise]

A several year operation investigating a Consortium known as PTC run by a mysterious man - now revealed to be a ogre - named Estavan has led to the discovery that he made a a business deal with a trio of demons. To no one's surprise, that did not end well, and Estavan has asked the Knights for help in setting things right. Estavan has asked the Knights to head to his warehouse in London and keep the creatures busy while he goes to meet with the Consortium's Ruling Council to find a way to take care of them. While Phineas, the Doctor, Val'drin, and Alec stay behind to clean things up at Estavan's home, Cordelia and Kate phone for back-up to meet them downtown at the warehouse.

They meet up in the warehouse district of the city, outside the large building.  There are several empty trucks parked out in the lot, but otherwise, no visible lights on, and only one door set in the side of it, and a few closed heavy loading doors.

[Okay, but she can't just NOT help.]

Okay, you guys stay here then. I'll check it out.

[As she starts to walk through the door.]

[Yeah, Kate can't either and she doesn't want Ashley to go alone.]

I'll go with you for back up.

[And she'll follow if Ashley walking through the door doesn't trigger something.]

Oh yeah, let's just all walk through mysterious teleporting doors. Great plan! [ ashley's body shimmers a bit as she goes through the exit and finds herself in a cold alleyway, city sounds all around her. kate steps through moments later, and they see a blonde woman in a leather jacket being held at gunpoint by a blue-haired thug. ]

[bagsthem]

[Ashley pulls her gun, aiming at the thug's head without so much as a pause, using a commanding voice.]

Drop it!

[Intimidate nat 20. Clearly she means business.]

[killmypatience]

[And Kate won't say anything, because clearly Ashley's got that covered, but she will raise her gun to back her up, staring down the guy with a little silent intimidation of her own (intimidate 21). It's not needed but it probably at least makes Ashley seem scarier.]

[allaboutme]

[ wow ok then. the thug takes one look at them, curses under his breath, drops the gun, and then starts running for it. ]

[killmypatience]

[and she will blink at that because that was easy, before moving to step up to the woman who was in trouble.]

You okay?

[bagsthem]

[While Kate checks on the girl, Ashley moves to the discarded gun to pick it up and holstering it, keeping her own out and watching down the alley in case the guy comes back or, worse, comes back with back-up.]

[ "I... I'm fine. T-thank you." she looks at them cautiously. "Are you cops?" ]

[killmypatience]

[She shakes her head.]

Not exactly, no. We were just passing by and heard you were in trouble.

[bagsthem]

[She hesitates another moment before she lowers her weapon, heading back over to the others while listening for footsteps coming closer, just in case.]

What did that guy want?

[allaboutme]

[ the woman hesitates. "He was... trying to rob me." ]

[killmypatience]

[That doesn't quite jive with what Kate heard earlier, and her cop brain switches on (sense motive 23).]

Would you like us to call the actual police?

[allaboutme]

[ yeahhhh no, she's being very shifty eyed about the whole thing and seems eager to get away.

"No, no... you've done enough. I can... I can call the police." ]

[bagsthem]

It's less that and more like we don't get why you'd feel like you needed to lie.

[She crosses her arms over her chest.]

So how about we start with who Corsone is and how you crossed him, considering by saving you we probably just crossed him too.

[allaboutme]

[ she looks back and forth between the two of them frantically for a moment... and then tries to book it down the alley, mumbling "I'm sorry." ]

[bagsthem]

Hey!

[Well, that's just straight up rude.

But now she's hella intrigued and she...can't stop herself (crit fail will save) as starts to book it after her.]

[andblockbuster]

[Meanwhile back at the door:]

...So do you think they're coming back?

[killmypatience]

[Yes, they are, because Kate is going to try and reach for Ashley before she can go and get too far ahead (reflex save 9), but as you can see she's not very effective at it, probably because she's surprised that the woman just took off like that.]

Wait, don't!

[allaboutme]

[ cordelia watches as ashley vanishes, the doorway shimmering before them, and she nervously glances back over her shoulder at the warehouse interior ] Hey guys! We've got a job to do here, remember?

[pathology]

[astrid gives a frustrated huff at the doorway.]

This is literally the dumbest thing to ever happen.

[bagsthem]

[She got a whole 5 on her listen check to try and catch Cordelia's call.

She isn't stopping. She might even be using her teleportation to try and catch up to this woman and stop her.]

[OH MY GOD ASHLEY.

Kate makes a frustrated noise but if she can catch her before she teleports, (if this works) she's going to cast Ice Plane on the opening of the alley creating a wall of ice that's 10 feet high and 20 feet thick, after the woman escapes. She's hoping that it will stop her and redraw her focus and won't do her any actual damage, but if she does run into it, it's 5 points of cold damage.]

We did what we came here to do, we saved her, but we need to get back to the mission.

[ reflex save for ashley of 15+ or she'll run into dat wall. if she gets a 20+ she can just teleport through it. ]

[Yeah she rolled....a 25.

She gone, phasing through the ice wall in one smooth motion. Between being promoted and dealing with the aftermath of her Mom bailing on the knighthood for, like, forever, apparently she's doing whatever she wants these days.]
